Hawk Walk at SMJ Falconry

Join bird of prey experts on an hour walk through the beautiful North Yorkshire countryside with two Harris Hawks. Guests will get to walk with the centre's Harris Hawks learning all there is to know about these intriguing animals. They can also expect to have the hawks fly to and from their gloved hand, a real close encounter! The hawks are not camera shy giving participants plenty of opportunity to take some amazing photos.

On return to the centre there will be some light refreshments available.

During the Hawk Walk, guests can immerse themselves in several captivating experiences. Firstly, they can observe the natural behaviour of the hawks, gaining insights into how these birds interact with their surroundings and with one another. The sight of these awe-inspiring hawks in flight is a highlight as they glide gracefully above and around the group. Participants can also expect to have a hawk fly to and from their gloved hand with the help and guidance of an experienced falconer.

As a memento of this remarkable experience, participants are encouraged to capture the moments with their cameras, allowing them to cherish the memories forever.

  Weather was a bit wet for the normal Hawks so we ended up spending the hr or so with a eagle hawk, which was even better. Definitely take boots as a bit muddy but the experience was fantastic watch the bird in tge sky and searching for prey.
