This experience includes a full day of pottery during which you can learn a range of techniques focused on the potter’s wheel including throwing, turning, attaching handles amd motifs and decorating using under-glaze and coloured slip.
You will be able to choose one of your master creations to be fired glazed and shipped back home to you.
Upon arrival, you will be greeted by your expert potter and be given a brief overview of what to expect from your session. Then it’s time to get your apron on and prepare for your pottery session to start.
You will begin the full day experience with a guided step-by-step pot throwing process. In the afternoon there will be further demonstrations after which you will work larger lumps of clay, make bigger pots and explore different shapes and forms. You will be encouraged to develop at your own pace and will be provided with individual tutoring as and when required.
Finish the workshop with new found fundamental pottery skills and knowledge, as well as tangible evidence of your creative flair to show off at home. You will be able to keep a pot of your choice, which will be professionally fired and glazed and ready to be posted to your home within approximately 4 weeks.
Please take along a towel and an apron, or these can be hired on the day for £5 for both items.
