Half Day Military Vehicle Driving

This is a unique and unforgettable experience. Driving some of the world's toughest military vehicles is a thrill you will never forget. When you're in the driver’s seat you can hear the loud engine roaring and any obstacle you come across, be it a steep incline or mud swamp, is easily dealt with. Anything is passable and in these vehicles you will be having the time of your life.

After you have registered there will be pre-instruction and a safety briefing on military vehicle driving before the action begins. You will choose to drive either the Bedford DAF Lorry, Fire Tender, Ex Military Landrover or the FV432.

• When can I go?

  This experience is available on Wednesdays, Sundays may be available for a supplement fee payable directly to the experience provider, from April to October.

• How long will my experience last?

  Your heavy duty experience will last for about 3 hours.

• How many people is this experience for?

  This experience is for one person, you will be in a group with 2 other people.

• Can I bring family and friends?

  Up to 3 extra passengers are welcome at £30 per person. There is a spectator fee which includes museum entry.

• What else do I need to know?

  • The minimum age is 17 years old.

  • The maximum height is 1.93m (6ft 4"). The maximum weight is 140kg (22st). You'll need a degree of flexibility, as some of the vehicles are tricky to get into.

  • You need to hold a full manual driving licence.

  • This is for a voucher entitling the holder to any of the activities supplied by Activity Superstore up to the value stated.

  I had this as a Birthday present. I had had a driving experience last year. As I don't drive fast I enjoyed it but not as much as this military Driving experiance. From the start I was in my element. The Museum was a great place to pass the time while waiting for my turn. Food and drinks were available at a good price. My instructor was a great bloke. He knew what he was talking about and explained the vehicles very clearly. I can't say which vehicle I enjoyed the most. An old Bedford truck, a double tracked vehicle. I can't remember the name, then a Tank. (The Tanks are set up for Paintball balling) I thought the tank would be easy but think of driving one for a whole day like the troops had to do. ?? It was unbelievable how they keep going in the mud. I have dropped a hint to do it again. Me personally I loved it.
