Overview

Whilst modern life has left its mark on many of the UK’s most popular short break destinations, there is something about a trip to the seaside that retains a charm which harks back to traditional holidays from simpler times.

Whether you have fond memories of donkey rides across the sand and knobbly knee competitions or you just enjoy the bracing effects of the sea air and a chance to paddle, this break is ideal for anyone who likes to be beside the seaside. There is nothing quite like a stroll along the beach with the tide lapping at your feet and the sound of seagulls overhead. You can walk along the pier and try your hand at the variety of amusements on offer, sit on the beach and enjoy the sound of the surf crashing on the shore or even test your mettle with some water sports if you’re really feeling adventurous.

You will be able to choose from a selection of seaside B&Bs in coastal locations throughout the UK, details of which will be provided in your booking instructions.

What did you get up to?
Arrived at the venue which was really easy to find, they had two big car parks which was free of charge to use. We were greeted by a friendly gentleman in their bar/restaurant, and taken to our en-suite room. The room was really clean and tidy, it had a large bathroom and they had even shaped the towels on the bed into elephants which I thought was a lovely touch. We dropped our bags and went and explored the seaside town, got some delicious fish and chips and sat on the beach. The bed was extremely comfy, the room had tea and coffee making facilities, the hotel also has free Wi-Fi for guests to use. After a great night’s sleep we woke up early and went for breakfast, which was absolutely delicious, great quality food. We decided to stay in Margate for the day and enjoy more of the seaside.

1. Make sure you go to the beach, its beautiful on a sunny day!
2. If your big kids like myself and my partner then go and enjoy Dreamland, Margate – lots of fun for both adults and children.

    We enjoyed our mini break staying in Bournemouth at The Trouville Hotel. Although the weather wasn’t very kind to us we still managed to pack a lot in the two days we stayed there. The hotel was spotless they all took Covid 19 very seriously, hand wash everywhere, masks etc. Great breakfast, very nice comfortable bar for a couple of drinks in the evening , all the staff extremely pleasant and helpful.

    We couldn't fault the hotel friendly welcome very clean and the breakfast was great. Sea view it was well worth the money. I purchased 2 seaside breaks as presents and we all really enjoyed the experience.

    I exchanged a voucher from 'A Day at the Races' for two, to a one night's bed and breakfast at Ellinbrook House, Hunstanton. We had a really lovely stay. Glenn and Shirley Stephenson made us very welcome and were great hosts.

    Our room was in the converted barn, on the ground floor. The entrance to the room is straight from the street. When we just came in we felt the humidity odour. The room was clean and had fresh linen, a kettle, some tea, and a coffee choice. There wasn't any place to put a suitcase, the wardrobe was open plan. The room itself had a low ceiling and was dark as opposed to the bathroom. The narrow patterned glass window around the door let the light straight to the eyes at night. Cars were parked very close to the room and till late night people walked between our windows and cars. The sockets were on the opposite wall to the bed. There was no coffee table near the sofa only a desk near the opposite wall which was too high. Wi-Fi had a very good signal. No comments concerning breakfast, we enjoyed a Full Welsh one. Very friendly staff. The nearest seaside was in Talacre 13 miles away. This place properly might be called River Estuary escape and it has a lot of things to do.
