What did your experience entail?
For this experience I attended my Two Night Stay at The Queens Head, Horspath, this location is a village pub, based in the lovely village of Horspath. Check in was from 12pm which was lovely as we had extra time to spend getting settled in and planning our weekend. When we arrived, we were shown to our room by the friendly staff and given all the information we needed. The room was the perfect size for two people, we had a double bed downstairs and there was also a single bed upstairs. We also had a kettle, tea and coffee and some snacks waiting for us when we arrived. Throughout the weekend the staff at the pub were very friendly, they wrote us a list of things to do in the area as we were not familiar with where we were, they were always checking to ensure we had everything we needed and we felt very comfortable.
What did you enjoy the most?
There were lots of great parts to this experience, the weather was lovely so we took full advantage of the pub garden. As well as this the area we stayed in was very quiet and relaxing however only a short drive away from restaurants and bars.
1. Make sure to take advantage of the 12pm check in as there is lots to do in the area!
2. Attending in the summer is perfect for this location as it is nice to sit outside.
3. We ventured into the town where there was lots of rooftop cocktail bars with beautiful views of Oxford, I would definitely recommend having a look around the area.

We followed the procedure to make a booking and found that the number of locations was quite small. We emailed the booking through the voucher system and had it confirmed back to us that the dates were available only to find that when we arrived at the hotel near Chester, the hotel had no booking for us. They did find a room for us which was lucky as they had coach parties taking up most of the hotel. The hotel was very tired and desperately in need of maintenance. The only lift did not work the entire time we were there. The service the staff provided was poor. The choice of breakfast was abysmal.

We enjoyed our stay (a Retirement gift) at The White Swan, 5 mins drive fron Arundel. It is by the busy A27, but we had a room at the back so the traffic was not so noticeable. The staff were very friendly and the restaurant had local items on the menu. Arundel itself was picturesque and we can thoroughly recommend a visit to Arundel Castle and wonderful gardens. There are lots of different attractions in the area to suit all tastes and also near to the coast. A great 2 days in June and very hot!

I bought this for my husbands birthday so that we could get away from our busy schedule. The hotel we chose however was disappointing. It was in reality a roadside pub with some rooms, most suited to business travellers not tourists. Our bed was so hard I hardly slept at all. However the breakfast was lovely and the location was good for the three days out that we had planned.

I Gave a 5 star enjoyment rating because we were with family. The rest was very poor. Accommodation clean but shabby and the breakfast was a tiny apple, banana and small pre wrapped brioche bun served in the very cramped room. This is not my idea of breakfast. On a plus it was close to Oxford. My mum bought this as a gift so although I told her it was lovely I felt sad that she had spent her money on this.

When we arrived the room we had been promised (room 2)had been given away to a couple who turned down room 1 so we had to take room 1 for 1 night. We were then moved to room 2. Apart from that we enjoyed our stay. The food was excellent and the staff also. What a pity we had to spend 1 night looking out at the mops hanging in the back yard!

Lion & Key is a lovely hotel, modern decor, large clean rooms, great staff and delicious breakfast - the French toast is beautiful. Bus stops are close by and the Tube is a 10min easy walk. Lots of fast food around and a few nice looking restaurants.
