On the Gin Safari by Bicycle, you’ll hop on a charming handmade Pashley bike—complete with a roomy front basket—explore the back streets of Southwark and Bermondsey, and sip your way through the tale of gin’s 18th-century rise to its modern-day revival.
Your guide, riding a bespoke gin bicycle, will keep you entertained with fascinating facts, quirky anecdotes, and, of course, generous gin samples! You’ll peddle past bustling street markets, foodie hotspots, and charming residential streets before concluding at a historical gin distillery. Rain or shine, this is a refreshing way to experience London. Ponchos provided for those classic British downpours!
Perfect for couples, visiting friends, or anyone with a love for gin, history, and leisurely bike rides. This 3.5-hour tour, including 3 gin samples, 2 G&Ts, and 1 gin cocktail, makes an unforgettable gift or day out.
This experience is available Saturdays, from May to September, subject to availability.
This experience will last approximately 3.5 hours.
This experience is for two people to enjoy, there will be others there on the day.
The minimum age is 18 years old.

Fun day out in London - a must do experience! We had a great day seeing the sights of London from a lovely, handmade, Pashley bike. Starting at the Walrus pub in Lambeth, we could use the facilities and buy refreshments if needed. Our guide, Mick, was very a knowledgeable, amusing and colourful character. We stopped at noteworthy historical buildings and a couple of gin distilleries. Lunch was at the bustling Rope Walk food market. Total distance cycled was about 15kms at a sedate pace along quiet, back roads and cycle paths. We saw parts of London we had never seen before and learned a lot about gin! Loved the day and would highly recommend it!

I have been living in London for over 5 years and cannot think of a better way to spend a quintessentially British Saturday afternoon then sipping Gin in Maltby Street on a beautiful British bike. Great experience, great company. Whiskey Mick out tour guide was very knowledgable, helpful and a real character. Would recommend to anyone and already have. I wish I could rediscover this little gem again.

I purchased the Gin Safari for a girl friend’s birthday. We went in sat 9th Oct 21, we had fabulous weather along with a fabulous time. James and Mick were very knowledgeable and a lot of fun. The cycle was easy and very safe along quiet back roads. We stopped off at a market for a bite to eat and sampled gin every step of the way topped off with some graffiti art which is much harder than it looks. I would recommend this safari to any gin lover and it’s great to see parts of London you wouldn’t normally visit when you are not from the area 😊

I had unfortunately missed the booking deadline for a gin and market cycling tour but after contacting Indytute they granted a two month extension and also registered me for the tour, absolutely fantastic customer service! We have now attended the tour which exceeded all expectations and really was a fantastic afternoon. The cycling was flat and along generally quiet back roads and across parks, the tour guides (Katy and Shibby) provided lots of information about the various sites along the route as well as the history of gin in London accompanied by a number of excellent tastings. Definitely a recommended tour.
