Experience driving a first generation Ford Escort with this classic car track day. You’ll feel like a movie star on this unique experience day, combining an appreciation for vintage design with high-speed thrills.

This classic car was the first European Ford and was in production from 1967 to 1975. A UK bestseller in the 1960s, it quickly solidified its status as a truly classic car. Known for its “coke bottle” waistline and “dogbone” front grille, it is an iconic example of practical and timeless design. It was also a firm favourite for rallying and later gained additional fame after it was featured in The Fast And The Furious 6, driven by Paul Walker.

As you arrive at the race track, you’ll be taken through a safety briefing while a hot drink of your choosing fortifies you for the drive. After that, you’ll hop into the car for six laps around the track with an expert instructor by your side to help you navigate the track while offering expert advice on how to get the most out of the car.

• What else do I need to know?

  • The minimum age is 17 years old.

  • Drivers must be fit and healthy and not suffer from any conditions that may impact their ability to drive the car safely. Maximum weight is 20st (127kg). Minimum height is 135cm (4ft 5").

  • You will be required to hold a full UK or European manual driving licence which must have been held for at least one year with no serious offences, this will need to be presented on the day.

  • The person driving the car will be required to sign a disclaimer accepting liability in the event of damage to the vehicle. The driver will be given an option to purchase damage waiver cover when booking to minimise their financial exposure should there be an accident. Drivers are under no obligation to purchase this optional waiver. Full details are available at the time of booking.

  • This is for a voucher entitling the holder to any of the activities supplied by Activity Superstore up to the value stated.

  My Daughter bought me the MK1 RS2000 experience as a kind of nostalgia gift, because I had several MK1's of all kinds back in the late 80's including the RS2000. Sadly the car you get to drive isn't a RS2000 its just painted up to look like one, but what really let's it down is its left hand drive :( My daughter paid for 6 laps, which makes it sound like you're driving round a track, but on the day I got 4 laps of a coned out section of airfield. It was obvious from the outset that they are out to fleece every single penny they can get out of you like repeatedly telling you, that you should have sighting laps at 10 quid a lap. On top of a 25 quid damage waiver, and then there's the overpriced photos or videos. The laps themselves were spoilt by other cars like Lambos being driven by kids, yes KIDS doing laps at 10mph with hazard lights on. The only good thing about the experience was the instructor giving you tuition on how to really give the car some beans, which again was spoilt by Kids driving slowly in other cars. If you are a petrol head like me, save your money and do something else with it instead..

As you have driven the RS2000 before, I can imagine that it was disappointing to find out that it was only painted to appear as one, I can only apologise on behalf of the supplier for this and I will be following this up. In regards to the extras that you are able to purchase on the day of your experience, these are completely optional. I can only apologise if on the day the members of staff did try and up sell some of the add ons, this I'm sure was only done to try and make your day even more special. I'm very sorry to hear that you felt the day was spoilt by other drivers on the day. The supplier offers a range of other experiences for all ages and it is extremely popular, so this does mean that there will be other drivers that are using the track at the same time as you, I can only apologise on behalf of the venue for this.   This experience wasn't the best. Poorly managed. 1. I had dunsfold aerodrome (top gear test track) and because it was our closest circuit we picked that one, now!!! This particular circuit is a "premium circuit" hence you have to pay a premium charge. 2. The booking in procedure was a farce. You had a big trailer with "sign in" written on it, so automatically you think that's where your first contact is, NO!! after you've queued for what it seemed half an hour, you get asked "have you signed the insurance waiver forms?" So you now have to get out of the queue, go outside again and queue up to sign the waiver forms. Ok, waiver forms done, now queue up again and now let's sign on. Ok. Now be careful, as this insurance waiver thing is a con, you're being basically forced into purchasing it with sentences like. "If another car crashes into you and you haven't done anything wrong then you still have to pay" and "you can't not get this insurance unless you have a CREDIT CARD with I think a 10000 limit at least" otherwise you can't do it, hence being forced into buying it. 3. The circuit was pretty much littered with tiny cones, all the same height with no clear path of where to go, when you get that path wrong the instructor isn't happy. Try having different coloured ones like they do at real amatuer circuits like Silverstone Stowe circuit, red for brake, yellow for turn in etc etc or get some directional arrow boards so people know where to go. And 4 now this one takes the biscuit. You've signed on payed the insurance etc. You then get told your briefing time, now this is where this makes this place look very unprofessional. Your briefing time comes and you head behind a second trailer with a huge awning on the back thinking there's a room or somewhere quiet for the drivers to be briefed. No, every single driver plus their family friends etc etc are there too. OMG the noise of having everyone there was awful. The person doing the briefing comes out and has to shout above everybody including the people on the P/A system outside and the cars racing by. Guys!!!!! This is a DRIVERS BRIEFING not a social gathering, this is health and safety items which need to the taken care of and explained to in detail without any distractions like family etc. Apart from all this, it was a reasonable day out. Shame for the weather but that wasn't their fault

  My family bought me three laps in my boyhood dream of a car, a Ford Escort Mk 1 RS2000. When I got to the track, I was presented with a choice of additional cars to drive as well as the Mk 1, so I chose the General Lee (a fine example of the Dodge Charger from the Dukes of Hazzard). Apart from initially losing my details for the Dodge drive, the Car Chase Heroes team did a fantastic job of managing my activities for the day and as a result this was a really special day for me. I would recommend Activity Superstore and Car Chase Heroes to anybody who wants to fulfil a dream to drive the car of their dreams.

  I didn't realise that you could upgrade so I did to the e-type jaguar so I did. Wow to sit in one was a thrill but to drive one was something else and I will be back for another go a mk2 jaguar or the e-type again.

  I booked through your website, when it came to looking at time because we didn’t get an email through. I placed all my details into your website. It came up with the correct date and a time of 3.45pm. We took this time and went with it. When we turned up at the venue they said we missed our time of 12.30pm so couldn’t participate. Not happy. Why have a time on the details if it’s not correct. It should say contact experience company. The date was correct. Won’t be using again.
