Overview

The oldest and largest inhabited castle in the world, there's every chance for eagled eyed visitors to catch a glimpse of The King.

Windsor Castle's State Apartments are furnished with some of the finest works from the Royal Collection, reflecting the changing tastes of the Castle's royal occupants, particularly those of Charles II and George IV. These rooms are still in use to this day, providing an amazing insight into the inner-workings of the Royal Family.

A favourite among visitors is Queen Mary's Dolls’ House. This stunning replica of an aristocrat's home is almost as impressive as the castle itself!

After your visit to the Castle wander over to The Corner House. A grade II listed building, recently renovated into a local snug neighbourhood gastro pub. Choose your 3 course meal from a delicious range of British pub classics.

What did your experience entail?
After the recent coronation of King Charles III, I treated my mother to a quintessentially British experience at Windsor Castle, accompanied by a delightful Sparkling Cream Tea. The vastness of the castle grounds astounded us, providing ample freedom to explore at our leisure. The staff members were remarkably friendly and attentive, and the castle's impressive accessibility, considering its origins in 1070, left us in awe. While on the grounds, we visited King George VI's Memorial Chapel and paid our respects at the final resting place of the late Queen Elizabeth II.
After immersing ourselves in the castle's wonders, including the state rooms and Queen Mary's Dolls' House, we made our way to the brasserie for our cream tea experience. The Clarence Court Brasserie, conveniently located on Church Street just beyond the castle's main gate, welcomed us warmly. A friendly server greeted us, collected our voucher and escorted us to our table. The service proved highly efficient, as within minutes of settling in, we were served with tea and a glass of bubbly. Shortly after we enjoyed the traditional sandwiches, scones, cream, and jam that followed.
What did you enjoy the most?
The best part for us was that we skipped a ginormous queue at Windsor Castle as we had vouchers. We were escorted to a designated “Voucher Holders” entrance and were in the castle much faster than those waiting to buy tickets on the day.

Top Tip

1. There is a lovely café on the castle grounds which offer some delicious cakes, but don’t fill up too much as you have a cream tea to look forward to.
2. Look out for and be respectful of The Foot Guards patrolling Windsor Castle – don’t get in the way!

Bought as a gift. Some confusion on arrival as we were in a long queue awaiting admission. We were advised by another visitor that we were in the queue for groups and we could continue up to the admissions area - a sign or security at the end of the queue would have prevented this happening. We enjoyed the whole experience which included changing of the guards, the chapel and the state rooms. Afternoon tea was also pleasant despite a short wait for a table.

We had a lovely day visiting Windsor Castle. The castle and grounds were lovely and very clean. All of the attendants around the castle were very helpful.. Really wanted to go into the chapel but it’s closed on Sundays, It would have been nice to be made aware of this when booking as I think most people go with the aim to go into the chapel. The afternoon tea was very disappointing. A few sandwiches each and a scone! Most afternoon teas you get cakes as well. Felt this was vey tight, Don’t think I would bother using activity superstore again, feel they are very misleading,

Hello, thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. We're glad to hear you enjoyed your visit to Windsor Castle and found the staff helpful and the grounds well maintained. We’re very sorry the chapel closure and afternoon tea fell short of expectations. The chapel being closed on Sundays should have been clearer at the time of booking, we’re reviewing this to prevent future confusion. We also appreciate your comments on the tea, and we’re passing this on to the venue for review. We never intend to mislead and are sorry to hear you felt that way. Your feedback is invaluable in helping us improve.

Windsor experience is extremely good, well thought out and organised. The Royal Appartments are tremedous. St George's Chapel is splendid and fascinating The Clarence Brassier was dissapointing. It has the space and decor of a run down cafe. The table we were shown to was tucked away in a corner next to a neglected window ope to the side street. Table position was good as the amount of through trafic in the rest of the establishment was significant, the place trading on its close proximity to the castle, . Tea comes in a tea bag with a pot of hot water - we were not offered any choice although there appeared to be one on a menu we spotted. The sandwiches were freash and tasty, 4 fingers each then 1 scone, we heard others being offered choice of fruit or plain, but again that was not offered to us. No pastries as one might expect from other establishments offering a "Cream Tea"
