A fantastic day out 3 journeys from wansford to peterbrough getting off at stations with time to explore before getting back on the train.
Station staff very friendly at each location at the end of the day they stood on the platforms at each station and waved to everybody would highly recomend plus excelant cafes and scenery along the route :)

The gift box was entitled "Steam Train Experience and Afternoon Tea" which the majority of people that I have spoken to have interpreted as just that - a ride on a Steam Train whilst enjoying afternoon Tea.
You will be aware that this is not the case - it is actually 2 separate experiences which is not, I suggest, as advertised. It was only with a great deal of patience that we managed to find a location for Afternoon Tea which tied in with a train ride - on our visit, not steam but a Danish Diesel Unit!.
Overall we had a very enjoyable day but I do think that you should consider how you advertise this 'gift' in future.

Within the experience details it does state that the afternoon tea is held separately from the train ride, and within the nutshells it also states that these are "2 separate experiences". However, we understand how the title may cause confusion. We appreciate your comments and will review how we present this to ensure it's clearer in the future. Due to the heritage nature of the steam train, there are occasions where it has to be replaced at short notice with a diesel engine. Train was excellent, not clear on voucher Afternoon tea had to be taken elsewhere. Only venue in East Midlands for tea, absolute rubbish.

Having spoken to Nene Valley twice prior to the experience date and confirmed the train would be a steam engine only on arrival after travelling for an hour told the train would be diesel. The ride itself was very disappointing and only lasted 1/2 an hour.

We were very excited to go on this Steam Train Experience, bought for me by my son, then a university student, so at £34 quite expensive for him. We chose the Nene Valley Raiway as our location because it is about 50 mins drive from where we live. The station at Wansford was delightful, very quaint, and a lot of original details. But to our great disappointment, the train was not a steam train. Being a Steam Train Experience, we expected a steam train. Very disappointing indeed. We have decided not to tell our son that it was not a steam train, as he would probably be even more disappointed than we were. I actually feel sad that he forked out for this experience in good faith, from his limited funds, being a university student. For these reasons,I would not recommend your experiences to anyone else
