Take a journey back in time and enjoy a fun-filled, nostalgic trip out together on a historic steam train. With a choice of scenic locations to visit, they’ll travel in style as the train meanders through some of the most glorious parts of the British countryside.
At some locations, tickets are valid for a return journey, whereas others offer a whole day rover ticket, so they’ll be able to hop on and off, exploring the local area as they please.
Also included in this package is either a one night stay with breakfast or a two night room only stay at a delightful hotel or B&B carefully selected for their convenient location.
These experiences make the perfect relaxing combination, where they can unwind in peaceful surroundings, with a chance to experience a new part of the country or see a local area from a different perspective, either at the same time as the train ride or at a later date.
This experience is available on selected dates, throughout the year. Steam trains typically run between March to October.
This is for a one night stay with breakfast, or a two night room only stay.
These experiences are for two people.
The minimum age is 18 years.
Excludes Bank and school holidays, Valentine's and Christmas. The steam train experience excludes Special Event Days.

Unfortunately never saw a steam train actually working. Old carriages pulled by a diesel engine. Scenery quite nice.

Clean tidy but not comfortable it’s a no frills kind of place , but the staff were Lovely and very helpful . Gifted to me as a two night stay , but we decided not to stay the second night as bed was so uncomfortable. Great location and the town is lovely, we had a super day at the castle also .

This is one of the smallest tracks in the country. As a train ride it is swiftly over. On steam days, the talk at the far end is a good addition to the visit. The benefit on a diesel day is a high frequency of trips giving chances to look back at the track or forward behind the driver ESR makes the best of a limited area. The cafe is good. Not really the best recommendation if a long train ride is wanted but my granddaughter and I enjoyed our time there.

Very poor, location ok. But very short train ride, teas available at site but we were expected to use a facility some miles away from site. Not good enough, overall a waste of money would not use you again.
