Location very convenient for the Beamish Museum. Free parking outside the hotel. Friendly staff and good food in the restaurant. However, the building is in need of a major refurbishment. The bedroom was barely adequate. Only one bedside table, which was cluttered with tea,coffee and the kettle. One of the small milk containers was punctured and the contents were rancid. Television was not properly tuned in and WiFi information was not displayed. The en-suite bathroom was shabby, with a very basic shower. The bed was clean and comfortable. On the second day the rubbish bin was not emptied and coffee and tea were not replenished.

The visit was shocking. Couldn't get a parking until 1am in the morning. Yes I was still awake as the room was right above the bar and it was very noisy. No bathroom and toilet in the room, the bathroom was across the room. The only good thing was the breakfast which was tasteful and the chef was very friendly. The place is very run down and I think the furniture all over the place was about 100 years old. Will not go back again!!!

This hotel is in a beautiful location but is a very tired building the bathroom had no air extraction and black mould in the corner of the shower the bed was comfortable and clean but was 2 singles not zipped together in the modern way the evening meal was very good but not good value along with a poor breakfast ( the scrambled egg was tasteless-the kipper was okay)The pool was very nice apart from the stained ceiling and very basic changing area the sauna was also basic and tired The room had no housekeeping after our first night ,restaurant staff were very good in the evening but not in the morning the reception was very helpful and pleasant at all times Overall disapointing but a lovely setting

What was the name of the venue where your experience took place? Riverdale Hall Hotel

Station was fine and staff lovely, although nobody seemed to know where we should sit. Kept getting moved from our seats, and eventually put ourselves in a closed compartment where we were told we could stay if we tidied up after ourselves! Train was fine, but route was an uninspiring straight line out and back. Not much too look at.

If I'm stopping in a hotel, I like to know my car is nearby. Well, you can't park on the street outside the hotel - there's yellow paint everywhere but what there is, is a locked car park just across the street and you can hire your own parking place in there for £5 per night. You get your own key so you are free to come and go as you please. The room was spotlessly clean and the breakfast was excellent - albeit as an extra. We also had to pay extra for the fact that we were going in the Summer holidays, but again that is understandable. The hotel is well placed within walking distance for places to visit and pretty darn close to the sea front. We also walked to the town without problem, and I walk with a limp these days. There are a few decent restaurants around and one work a visit right on the corner of the road. I can't remember what it is called now - the Bar on the Beach, or something like that and I'd recommend them. There is a bar in the hotel but we didn't visit; we're not bar flies and were either walking taking in the air and the sights or resting watching TV. Would we go again? It's a resounding yes from my wife and I'll go along with that. I'd probably book direct with them though.

Had a beautiful clean room and breakfast was the best we've ever had (including cruises!). Short walk to seafront/town and near to Torre Abbey. Hosts very welcoming and friendly.

Our stay in Lincoln was superb, such an interesting city. The accommodation was faultless and really comfortable.

We stopped at this hotel a 2nd time 3years between the stays, the hotel is in need of some work to it inside and out it looks tired, the staff is very welcoming and very helpful if needed, I booked a treatment in the spa for my wife's 60th but on the day the massage was ment to be done the hotel informed myself that lady who was doing the treatment had phoned in sick, the hotel sorted out a new time and sorted out a meal for us both to say sorry. We have been Bournemouth twice and don't think we will be going again.

Whilst not attractive on first appearance. The room was neat, clean and functional. The Staff were all friendly and accommodating. The food "passable", just, but a good night's sleep
