The Esprit Wellness & Spa located at the Crowne Plaza Reading East is the perfect place to escape the pressures of every day stresses and enjoy a relaxing treatment. What did you get up to?
Me and my partner had a sparkling afternoon tea and use of facilities voucher at the Crowne Plaza in Reading. The hotel was extremely easy to find and the staff were very polite. Firstly we went to enjoy the spa where we then was given our robes and towels. The facilities were tidy, clean and very spacious. We then went on to have our afternoon tea, this was presented superbly and all the food was fresh and tasty. We both would recommend.

What did you enjoy the most?
Our favourite part of the experience was detoxing in the steam room and then going on to take a swim in the pool to cool down. It was lovely to be able to relax fully before our afternoon tea.

    This is a hotel with a pool, sauna and steam room. There is nothing “Spa” about this. Although the venue and staff were pleasant and the venue was clean this is not a spa experience by any means. I originally had a voucher for a spa day but none were in my area so I had to swap for this one which was still a 2hr round trip. This is the best out of a bad bunch. All these spa vouchers limit you to a mon-thur and vary rarely can you use these on a weekend which again ruins the experience and is just really a con. Anybody looking for a spa day is better off booking with the venue direct so you know exactly what you are getting. All of these companies that do spa experiences just con you into spending the money and they have very limited use. I will never buy one of these again.

    I anticipated this day to be a bit special, however, I found that it was a very basic spa experience. Just a small steam and sauna room. no Jacuzzi style tub. to get drinking water you had to leave the spa area and go to the gym. The afternoon tea itself was good, but it was just that. Literally Tea. I don't drink tea and asked for a cappuccino instead, I was inform that that would be chargeable. I've never been to a afternoon tea where they cannot substitute a drink. The whole experience was a bit poor.

    I took my mum for her birthday to have afternoon tea and make use of the spa. The spa area was very clean and the facilities were great. Especially loved the steam room and bar service around the pool. The afternoon tea was great, lots of yummy food, a whole pot of tea each and glass of Prosecco. Will definitely be returning here. All the staff were so polite and welcoming.
