What did your experience entail?
My Wife and I decided to book a Rural Escape for Two at the Stag in Maidwell. The rain was torrential on our booking day, so we planned to stay put in the pub. We found the staff to be warm and welcoming as they showed us to our room and later as they served us dinner and drinks; which can be purchased separately upon arrival. The room was clean and tidy, with everything we needed for our short stay. We had a pleasant evening chatting, and the beds were very comfy. The next morning, we were served a veggie full English breakfast with a large flask of coffee, which set us up for the day. The pub is located nearby Foxton locks which was made for a lovely morning walk along the canals.

Please read below as it makes them even better!! ON A SEPERATE NOTE: I would never use the Activity superstore again. apalling service! Due to my daughter being diagnoised with a Brain Tumour in late 2023 we were unable to use our voucher I was then taken ill & again this stopped us using the voucher, I asked Activity Superstore if I could extend, for the priviledge I was charged £20! I booked the Flint Mountain Hotel for the 11 November 2024, then unfortunately I had to have surgery on my spine, I contacted Activity Superstore, they were most unhelpful & said I could not extend the voucher again!! so I would just loose it! In desperation I rang the Flint Mountain Hotel & they were incredibly helpful & sympathetic to the situation & immediatly agreed to allow us to change the booking, in fact not to fix a booking just ring them when we could travel again! NOW THAT IS SERVICE!! TAKE NOTE ACTIVITY SUPERSTORE.

We were so pleased with our choice of B & B for our stay. Very clean and comfortable, lots of little extras in the room, friendly welcome from Richard and a delicious breakfast with plenty of choice to suit all tastes. The B & B is only five minutes walk from the sea front so ideally situated. Will definitely be back.

This was a great place to stay. Friendly welcome and throughout our short stay. Food was great and catered really well for my Gluten Free diet. The bedroom was spacious with pretty garden views. The bar with a lovely crackling open fire and comfy sofas were great to relax, and make friends, as we did. Altogether a lovely country hotel.
