Enjoy a delicious meal with a friend or family member, consisting of a gourmet burger, chips and a flight of 3 craft beers each. The beers are brewed in the onsite brewery so whether you're a beer connoisseur or a total beginner, this will be the perfect experience to try a range of unique craft beers.

What did you get up to?
We visited The Chequers of Orwell in Cambridgeshire to use our Gourmet Burger and Craft Beer for Two experience. Upon arrival we pulled up to a beautiful well-presented country pub. The cosy bar was furnished in a speak easy style with sofas and armchairs creating little pockets of space perfect for smaller parties. We sat down and ordered our drinks and food. We ordered an array of sides from their ample menu to create a sharing board starter and the vegetable samosas were so tasty! The Burgers were succulent and very filling, great value! We finished off our meal with a chocolate fondant, this was absolutely heavenly! For the quality of food and service I will definitely be returning.

The best bit of this whole experience was the attentive and friendly staff. The team whilst professional were very friendly making us feel extremely comfortable. We were made to feel very welcome and were given the freedom to make use of all the space. We enjoyed a drink in the bar prior to dinner in the restaurant and then finished our drinks in the garden before departing.

Top Tip

1. Order the Chocolate Fondant for dessert, this was rich, decadent and definitely satisfying.
2. If the weather is warm be sure to sit next to the bifold doors in the restaurant!
3. Be sure to enjoy a drink in the bar prior to going through to the restaurant, make the most of that cosy atmosphere.

    We paid a visit to the Loch Fyne restaurant in Chelmsford and enjoyed a scrumptious 3 course meal, accompanied by a chilled bottle of champagne! Upon arrival we were welcomed by a nice gentleman named John, who then ushered us to our table for the evening. We both ordered the sea salt and pepper squid as a starter and thoroughly enjoyed it, especially as we had never tried squid before so it was a great first experience! For my main, I had the pan fried sea bass and my friend had the king prawn linguine which we both thought were very delicious dishes. To cap off the tasty cuisine, we both had the popcorn sundae as our dessert and were both surprised by the combination of ice cream, salted caramel sauce and popcorn! Overall we undoubtedly enjoyed this experience and had our taste buds treated to an array of flavours! As a food lover, I would recommend this mouth-watering experience.

    Whilst the staff were very friendly, the gourmet burger itself was tiny and not very errrrrr gourmet. Also the pub did not even sell craft beer so had a pint of bitter instead. Was not worth what we paid for this 'experience'. Real value was prob £7.50 for the burger and chips and then £3.50 for the pint of bitter.

Having looked into this for you, I have calculated the direct value through the supplier and can confirm, with added VAT, packaging etc this appropriately matches the pricing of our vouchers. The venue has also advised me of their craft beer options, these being Lacons/Adnams Punk IPA. Therefore, there were options of these available to you.     After a really easy process of redeeming and booking using the voucher gifted to us we travelled the 60 miles to get to the Venue. Upon arrival we were greeted and seated in a very grubby dining area. Stains on the walls and thick dust on the skirtings should have been the warning we needed. We were handed the standard menus when seated which had a single option for a burger so that was what we ordered. After a short wait, the food arrived and to our surprise we found when cutting into the burger that it was raw in the middle. Whilst I appreciate these were hand made gourmet style burgers, at no point were we told they would be served rare nor did it state on any of the menu that this was the case. We proceeded to eat the sides which I can’t fault and waited for a member of staff to check on us as is normal custom in a restaurant/dining experience but nobody approached or was really present in the dining area. Once we had finished out sides, my partner headed outside whilst I went to the bar to check there was no bill to settle at which point I was asked if there was a problem so explained that the burgers were too rare for us. I was met with the response of ‘You should have said something’ and have to confess that I needed to bite my tongue and not say that actually they should have checked! I have given more than 1 star but only so as not to be cruel! All in all a very disappointing experience at a venue I would definitely not recommend.

    My son bought me this for my birthday. Unfortunately the only place near me was Revolution. On arrival we received the burger menu and I queried after the price of meal taken do we just have more beer until money runs out as my son paid £49 for voucher. I was informed I can only have burger and 1 beer for 2 people. Total of £26. This leaves £23. I was informed that's all they can give me and the remaining £23 is probably your fee! Nearly 50% fee! Absolutely shocking, I rang my son and told him never to use your services again and I will also be putting a review on facebook. Food and service fantastic, can't fault the Revolution, just Activity Superstore! 😡🤬
