What did you get up to?
I took my boyfriend to visit the Chequers of Orwell near Cambridge to use our voucher. We arrived early to the venue and were greeted by friendly staff. Even though the staff kindly offered to seat us at our table early, we decided to buy a drink and sit in the outside area for a little bit first where we enjoyed the peaceful surroundings.
When we were ready the staff showed us to our table and gave us their set menu. I handed them our voucher, and they knew exactly what they were talking about and told us we could choose between having a starter and main, or a main and dessert included with our voucher – we opted for the starter and main as they stood out to us. For our starters I enjoyed the Vegetables Tempura, and Tyler had the Salt & Pepper Squid and King Prawns – as a vegetarian I usually end up having the same food options at pubs, so it was nice to be offered something different, and it was absolutely delicious. For the main course, I chose the Ricotta & Spinach Ravioli and Tyler had the Curry of the Day, which was a Thai Curry. As they make all their food fresh, they were able to tailor it to our desired taste and made Tyler’s curry hotter for him – which when he tried it, he said it was perfect.
We were both quite full but had a look at the dessert menu anyway, they all sounded so yummy that we decided we had to purchase one each. I had the Cappuccino Crème Brulee which was gorgeous, and Tyler had the Peacan Tart which was also delicious. Both desserts were beautifully presented, as was all our food.
Overall, this was a great experience, and I would recommend you try this location.

    This was a gift from the in-laws for our anniversary. We used the voucher at The Mill House near Tintagel, Cornwall. The food was stunning, beautifully cooked, locally caught fish. The ale was also lovely - a good selection of local ales on the menu. The place is charming and atmospheric, with lots of merry locals and their very cute pooches in the bar. It was great to soak up the good vibes around us and have some delicious food.

    We received Activity Superstore Card as a present and decided to use a gastro pub dinner option. The whole experience was dreadful. The booking process takes too long. First you have to activate the card. Then you have to generate a code to book your experience and only with the code you can book your chosen experience and then wait for its confirmation for 72 hours, which could have been ok. But the restaurant we wanted to go for dinner was not willing to take the dinner booking during the weekend and was offering a lunch instead. So I had to refer to the terms and conditions of the gift card and argue with the restaurant directly to make the dinner booking. Activitysuperstore customer service had to discuss it with the restaurant too and send me an email with a special authorisation to have a dinner experience. However, when we arrived for a dinner, the restaurant employees were refusing to serve us telling us that the gift card was only applicable for lunch. I had to bring up the authorisation email again. Needless to say that we didn’t not have a great experience. The food was good, but it was spoiled even before it arrived and the whole experience left a rather bad aftertaste. Never again! If the restaurant was not interested in serving a dinner - why was on the list?

I do apologise that you found the activating and booking process difficult, in order to book your experience you will have needed to get your unique voucher number so the venue is able to find out your details. When activating on www.usemygift.com you are able to see each venues restrictions and for that specific location, it does state Tuesday to Thursday lunch times, if you wish to book dinner they do require a £10 supplement fee. I can only apologise if this was not clear, however glad to hear that you did get to enjoy your food. Thank you again for your review.

    Had voucher bought for my birthday, dinner for two at a local restaurant, Fel's Fusion Bistro in the old Bird in Hand pub in Stoulton, Worcestershire. This was a family run Italian restaurant in pleasant surroundings, we were made to feel extremely welcome by the lovely staff and food was absolutely delicious although pricey for what it was. Coffee was £3.95 for small cup although we did have a couple of chocolates with it !! Overall a lovely place to eat but only for a special occasion. Too expensive for a weekly treat.

    My husband and I used our voucher shortly before Christmas. There wasn’t a great deal of choice locally to use the voucher so went to London so wasn’t really a Gastro pub as we went to the Doubletree Hotel near Russell Square and the restaurant was just an extension of the reception. Meal was ok although they got the order wrong, wouldn’t rush back
