Overview

Visit Blenheim Palace the home to the 12th Duke and Duchess of Marlborough and is the birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill. With over 300 years of history to discover and more than 2000 acres of landscaped parkland and formal gardens to explore, Blenheim Palace is Britain's greatest palace and offers visitors a precious time, every time. It is the seat of the Dukes of Marlborough and the only non-royal, non-episcopal country house in England to hold the title of palace. The palace, was built between 1705 and 1722, and designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1987.

Blenheim Palace is set to raise its roof with an all-new viewing platform experience providing visitors with never seen before breathtaking views over the Estate as well as the surrounding Oxfordshire countryside; an entirely unique perspective from above the UNESCO World Heritage Site.

For the first time, visitors will get to go below the Palace and step back in history to explore the hidden world of Blenheim Palace’s servants. The new Life Below Stairs experience will provide the opportunity to see the historically significant original Palace Kitchens where visitors can immerse themselves in the spaces and hear the sounds of the staff work as they prepare for an important royal visit.

Commencing in January 2025 and costing around £12 million, Blenheim Palace is having a significant section of the roof restored. This substantial project will take over 2 years to complete and is to protect the stunning artwork and historic fabric which rests within it. This may cause scaffolding or netting to be around the front of the palace.

Afternoon tea and Palace panoramic views, there’s simply no place quite like dining at the Orangery Restaurant, luxury dining experience at Blenheim Palace.

The new restaurant, encompassed by a glass conservatory structure, allows guests to enjoy afternoon tea with striking views of the South Lawn, Blenheim Palace and nearby woodland and boasts. The unique dining experience features a variety of locally sourced ingredients and inspired dishes.

Diners may wish to take a stroll across the lawn to the nearby Formal Gardens and discover where the wartime leader proposed to his wife at the Temple of Diana.

Yes I recommend this product.

The day began well, my wife has current mobility issues, as we walked very slowly from the car park to the palace the young female driver of the courtesy transit from the bus stop pulled up, unrequested and offered us a lift. A wonderful gesture, greatly appreciated. That set the tone for the rest of the day, we were delighted

Blenheim Palace and lunch at The Crown, Woodstock

Yes I recommend this product.

What a lovely day out. Woodstock is a small market town right by Blenheim Palace. We had a very pleasant lunch at The Crown. Service was excellent, food very good and set us up nicely for an afternoon at Blenheim Palace. Parking is very limited in Woodstock, but we managed to get a spot in a free car park in Union Street Car Park, just off Hensington Road. Blenheim Palace was wonderful, what a place. We joined a 45 minute tour inside the Palace and our guide was fantastic, very knowledgeable and kept us all involved throughout. The grounds are very extensive and didn't have time to explore everywhere, but enjoyed our walk around. We had a coffee and cake at the end of our visit which was in a clean/modern setting with the gift shop just next to it. An excellent day all round.
