Discover Beekeeping

Curious about what happens inside a working beehive? This immersive beekeeping experience offers the chance to get up close to thousands of honeybees and discover the skills involved in caring for a colony.

Taking place at the hives alongside an experienced beekeeper, participants will learn about the life of the hive, observe the inner workings of a bee colony and even join the search for the queen bee. For those feeling confident, there is also the opportunity to hold frames covered with bees and see the hive from a beekeeper's perspective.

With protective clothing provided and plenty of time to ask questions, this is a fascinating introduction to one of nature's most important pollinators. Lasting around two to three hours, it offers a memorable outdoor experience and a rare insight into the world of bees.

  This experience is available Monday to Sunday, May through to October, subject to weather and availability.

  This experience will last approximately 2 hours.

  This experience is for one person, there will be other people there on the day.

  • The minimum age is 18 years old.

  • If you have any known allergic reactions to insect / bee stings you will not be able to take part in this experience.
