Why We Test Our Experiences

We can't get out and experience every Experience Day we offer, but we make a point of testing as many as we can.

Members of the Activity Superstore team regularly head out across the UK to experience the days we sell for themselves – from luxury overnight stays and afternoon teas to driving experiences and unforgettable adventures.

It's an important part of how we judge quality. If an experience doesn't meet our standards, we raise it with the supplier — and if it isn't good enough, we won't continue selling it.

And that's what Tested by Us really means. It's not an AI evaluation, an algorithm or a statistical score. It's real people from our team getting out there and experiencing things for themselves.

When you see the Tested by Us badge, you'll also find genuine thoughts from the person who experienced it, so you can see what they actually thought before choosing your gift.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What does Tested by Us mean?

It means members of the Activity Superstore team have experienced an Experience Day first-hand and shared their genuine thoughts about it. We believe getting out there and trying experiences ourselves is an important way to understand their quality.

  • Does Activity Superstore test every experience?

No, we can't personally experience every Experience Day we offer. We get out and test as many as we can, and if something doesn't meet our expectations, we take that feedback seriously and act on it.

  • Who tests Activity Superstore experiences?

Our experiences are tested by members of the Activity Superstore team, from different parts of the business. They're real people trying the experiences for themselves and sharing their honest opinions – there's no AI or automated evaluation involved.

  • How often do you test experiences?

There's no fixed testing schedule, as it depends on the experiences we can access and the opportunities we have to get out and try them. We aim to test as many as we can, with members of our team regularly experiencing days across the UK.

  • What happens if an experience does not meet expectations?

We take what our team finds seriously. If an experience doesn't meet our expectations, we'll review it and, where appropriate, remove it from our site rather than continue recommending something we wouldn't be happy to give ourselves.
