On contacting the Railway Company to use the voucher I was told just to turn up at the booking office. At the booking office I was dealt with swiftly and given a ticket for the train. The train arrived and off we went after the conductor checked our tickets and secured the carriage doors. The first station is Gilfach Ddu where the slate museunm is, but closed at the moment for refurbishment, there is a gift shop and cafe here, toilets and a short walk into the woods. We then stop at the end of the lake where the engine moves round to take us back, we experience fantastic views of the lake and Yr Wyddfa, and stop at Cei Llydan station for a 5 minute break where we disembark and walk to the lake side and admire the castle at the end of the lake. From there we continue on our return journey and stop at Gilfach Ddu where the engine takes some water, we can also stay here if needed to use the facilities and catch a later train back to Llanberis station. 10/10

No I do not recommend this product.
Nice location. Unfortunately unlike other afternoon teas I have had, there was no savoury stuff ie quiche, sausage roll. Couple of sandwiches then sweet stuff. Found it very sickly.

Staff really friendly. Great train ride. Plenty of scenery to look at on the journey. Stopped at quite a few stations. Very interesting. Had time to get off the train and stretch our legs before the return journey home. Clean carriages. Return tickets less than £20pp yet the gift voucher cost £110. Very difficult to book online with the gift voucher from Activity Superstore as I needed the original receipt when purchased yet the clue is in the title 'Gift'. As this was a Christmas present and we didn't redeem it until June, this was impossible to get. Very limited choice of Steam Train venues to choose from so this meant a long way to travel to get to the suggested train line. Although a lovely treat and no complaints about Ecclesbourne Valley Railway and the train ride, I wouldn''t buy one of these gifts for anyone.

We arrived just after 3pm when service stopped but the helpful staff still served us the Afternoon Tea whuch was very nice. The room wasn't clean but I was told it had been very busy and they had not yet had time to clear some of the tables from the previous diners

Railway was in a beautiful part of the countryside.Due to weather (hot and dry) unable to run steam engines.This was not there fault.everything on day was very good.
This was the only railway that was available to book!!!!! in the Northern Region on the country
