Step back into the bygone era of rail travel as soon as you set foot in the ticket office at The Nene Valley Railway. A hop-on-hop-off ticket allows you to explore areas such as the Ferry Meadows Country Park. All the staff are volunteers and obviously love what they do and are therefore very friendly and informative.

If you choose to take the afternoon tea on the same day, a fifteen-minute walk from Peterborough station takes you to The Bull Hotel, a 17th Century, Grade II listed building. The tea is a good stop off on your train journey, but I wouldn’t choose it for a special occasion. The whole experience was thoroughly enjoyable and is highly recommended for a day out.”

It wasn't the best afternoon tea we have experienced. The staff were great but the sandwiches had very little filling and the scones were very stodgy indeed. Food could have been better.

Bog standard overpriced food. Very poor service. Had to wait over 40 minutes before we were served food despite having an agreed arrival time. Apparently "chef was busy"! Staff noticeable by their absence.

Yes I recommend this product.

We enjoyed the ride but would have preferred more choice of railways in our area, was quite disappointed that both the Midland Railway at Matlock Bath and the Churnet Valley railway in Cheddleton Stoke were not included on the choice of venues. We didnt get off the train at Duffield due to our restricted time schedule, as it would have meant waiting for the 2pm train back (2 hrs to occupy ourselves in a very quite station/village.)
