Experience Day Review
Step back into the bygone era of rail travel as soon as you set foot in the ticket office at The Nene Valley Railway. A hop-on-hop-off ticket allows you to explore areas such as the Ferry Meadows Country Park. All the staff are volunteers and obviously love what they do and are therefore very friendly and informative.
If you choose to take the afternoon tea on the same day, a fifteen-minute walk from Peterborough station takes you to The Bull Hotel, a 17th Century, Grade II listed building. The tea is a good stop off on your train journey, but I wouldn’t choose it for a special occasion. The whole experience was thoroughly enjoyable and is highly recommended for a day out.”

My husband and I were given a gift voucher organized by our Son, daughter in law from Australia. For Nene Valley Railway to experience our journey on diesel train. We had a great day. Got of at Peterborough to see Cathedral. All the staff were so helpful and friendly. Would definitely take family or friends visiting us and treat them to a trip on these old trains. Very nostalgic and relaxing.

The venue was downstairs in the base of an old church. Went all around town to find it and asked several passers by. Eventually we found it but they had no table ready for us even though we were booked in days before. We were put in a dark corner, no table cloth. The afternoon tea came on a wooden platter not a lovely cake stand as expected and no nice teapot or cups. Very dissapointing would not recomend.
