Make your chocolate-fuelled dreams a reality with a chance to discover the art of chocolate décor from experienced and knowledgeable cocoa connoisseurs. Brought to you by London’s pioneers of chocolate-making workshops, My Chocolate uses only high quality chocolate throughout their teachings to ensure your masterpieces look as good as they taste.
Your session will kick off with quick history lesson as the Master Chocolatiers guide you through the history of chocolate, from bean to bar. You’ll also get to sample plenty of tasters such as raw cocoa nibs, 100% pure chocolate and special secret ingredients, as you discover the differentiating flavours and textures of chocolate throughout time.
During the rest of your session, you will create your very own personal design in the form of a giant chocolate button, using professional dipping forks to create marbled effects. Next on the agenda is fresh truffle making, which really is as delicious as it sounds. Following demonstrations from the Master Chocolatiers, you’ll be dipping, cutting, rolling and decorating your way to superb creations using dark chocolate ganache, milk chocolate fudge, and bowls of melted chocolate. You’ll then adorn your crafts with white chocolate flakes, honeycomb and strawberry curls to complete the final touches. Your day of sweet dreams won’t end there.
You’ll leave with approximately 15 of your own handmade chocolates in addition to your giant chocolate button to show friends and family (or at least photograph them for evidence and then eat them yourself).

What did you get up to?
The Chocolatier and host of the day, Gina, was funny, welcoming and very friendly. It was a fun, informative and jam-packed day. After a quick health and safety briefing, I learned about the history of chocolate, and Gina talked us through a detailed demonstration of how to tell the difference between good and bad quality chocolate. Our chocolatier showed us a handful of professional decorating techniques and also explained a variety of alternative methods in combining ingredients.
I found it particularly helpful that before we sat down and had a go ourselves, the chocolatier warned us of the common mistakes that people tend to make. We even got to have a taste of pure chocolate. I went home with a giant decorated chocolate button, which made for a great personalised present for a friend, as well as chocolate truffles and chocolate covered hand-made fudge which I polished off when I got home! The only downside to this experience was that for health and safety reasons, we only had one opportunity to lick the chocolate off the spoon!
What did you enjoy the most?
Definitely trying out my handmade chocolates! I was surprised at how tasty they were. Perhaps I’ve missed my calling?!
Top Tip
Wear a short-sleeved top so you don’t get chocolate all over your clothes!
