Overnight Stay and Reindeer Experience for Two at Somerset Reindeer Ranch

A getaway with a difference, enjoy a one night stay in a hobbit style hut situated in the beautiful Somerset countryside. The huts are in a private garden right next to a barn full of friendly reindeer and white horses who are just waiting for a visit from guests. Each hut has a large fire at it’s centre which guests can cook on as well as giving warmth and an atmospheric glow. Logs are available to keep it alight, there are electric sockets too for added convenience. The toilet/showers are situated 20 meters from the hut. Guests can also visit the outdoor bar which serves local ciders, beers and cocktails, also juice and milkshakes for the children.

Once settled in the ‘Meet the Reindeer’ session will start with an informative talk which is filled with plenty of interesting reindeer facts as well as a few health and safety tips. The ranch owner will demonstrate how to care for and feed the reindeer before it’s time to spend some quality time with one of Santa’s elite sleigh pulling team. The lucky guests will have plenty of opportunities to take some wonderful pictures with their new fuzzy nosed friend when they feed the special lichen by hand.

After their time with the reindeer they will receive a warming hot chocolate with marshmallows each and have the opportunity to take a stroll around the ranch to meet all the other animal residents, ranging from emus, pigs, skunks to horses, and of course, the friendly snow dogs. Now it's time to try the same course with hatches closed and navigating using the periscope. With your peripheral vision gone, a sudden realisation of how hard this is gives the ultimate adrenaline rush.

Your experience will start with an introduction and safety briefing given by the friendly instructors who will give an overview of the tank and it's controls. After spending some time getting used to the tank you will be given your first test. Negotiating a tricky tank course set in a World War II bombing range. If your confidence is running high then you'll want to try it again but under more challenging conditions. My wife bought me this experience for my christmas present and even before Covid it had been cancelled and rescheduled on numerous occasions. When i finally managed to use my gift i got a phone call 2 days before asking if i would like to purchase another seat at a reduced price, i bought the experience so i could share a memorable moment with my wife. On the day we went up the headphones didn't work, we couldn't hear any commentary or each other. We mention this on our quick egress of the helicopter to be told "OK I'll mention it". I payed £10 for a photo to remember this occasion

Due to the nature of your experience, it may be cancelled due to extreme weather conditions which as you can imagine is out of the providers hands. This experience is only to be enjoyed by one person, we do explain in the experience information that there will be others in the helicopter at the same time as you. I'm glad to hear that you were given an option to purchase a seat in the helicopter for your wife. I'm very sorry to hear that the headphones were not working in the helicopter, this is not the standard we expect and I will be passing the comments over to be looked into. I was extremely disappointed that an expensive deal worth £169 was terrible! Got a cream tea as opposed to an afternoon tea, was originally asked to pay a surcharge as a Saturday night, was put in a budget room, was required to pay extra if was to use spa facilities. Was overall very misleading and disappointing!

Yes I recommend this product.

I had this bought for me last year. Hotel situated in the country very quiet, very welcoming staff. Our room was a little tired, maybe time for an update.

I was given the voucher as a present and very much looked forward to using it for a “ladies who take tea” country hotel getaway. The hotel was nice but clearly had no idea what afternoon tea was. 80’s pop music and bland doorstop sandwiches? Plus when we asked to take our scones to our hotel room to finish later we were given just that - the accompaniments (jam, clotted cream, plates, knives) were all removed and the dry scones put in a plastic takeaway container. Overall, very odd. Good voucher which I would recommend, just not sure about the selection of venues. Hopefully, I just chose poorly.

Given to me as a gift for my 60th and not something I would have done otherwise but had a really enjoyable morning my instructor was excellent and everything was well organised. Must also mention the onsite museum which wwas well worth a look.

The concert was amazing and well worth the journey to see. The picnic was a little disappointing though and not worth the money.
