A good day out

Really good fun, very scary. I'd highly recommend it but not for young children or the weak hearted.

Good exhibits but too dark to appreciate fully

This was a second choice as the London Eye Experience had been withdrawn and having visited the London Dungeon many years ago I thought this would be even better. We went early and joined a small group of about 12. You start off by going through dark tunnels, holding onto each other, until you reach the first room, which tells the story of London Bridge. You are left to wander round this and read the history until someone comes and moves you through more dark tunnels to the next feature, where an actor relates another story, and so on. Eventually you cross The Vortex (this is definitely the best bit) and reach the Tombs. The tunnels contain various grisly scenes, heads dangling, pieces of cloth brushing your face and cages containing actors who scream at you. The whole thing was too rushed and you didn't get time to take it all in. The tunnels were far too dark so you couldn't appreciate the scenes or exhibits. I didn't find it scary but it was quite exhausting having to rush around all the time, which rather spoiled it. The actors were excellent, doing what must be a boring and tedious job several times a day, but to be honest I think I liked the old London Dungeon better. As a Gift outing it was ok, but I don't think it is worth the actual entrance fee.
