Bobsleigh Experience

VIEW

No

Description

Experience a high-speed adrenaline buzz like no other with this exciting Bobsleigh experience.

The purpose of bobsleighing is very simple, you race the sleigh down a steep hill as quickly as possible.

A team of people begin at the top of a hill, where, from a standing start they push the bobsleigh along, gaining momentum as they go and then jumping on board the sleigh as it hurtles down the track at break-neck speeds, twisting and turning before then crossing the finishing line.

The beauty of this experience is you don’t need to head to an Olympic luge track to try this adrenaline-fuelled winter sport. In fact, you don’t even need any ice. Instead, a purpose built track has been designed with a wheeled sleigh which is affixed to a track (similar to an athletics track) with grooves, ensuring you stay safely on course.

On the day, a high performance coach will guide you through all the essential skills and strategies required to get you started and to ensure your safety. You'll focus on the most crucial aspect of the race, which is pushing the bob off the start and getting in as quickly as possible. The session starts with an introduction to the simulated bob run, then it's a thorough safety briefing.

Once you are kitted out with your protective helmet, it's out to the track to learn the sport and techniques used. You will have a trial run on the 'start facility', first built for athletes to train for the Salt Lake City Olympics. The start facility is a true replica and although it is not on ice, you can achieve speeds of up to 30 mph (total track length is approximately 60m - this is not a full length track and there will be up to 3 other participants in the bobsleigh with you).
You will have a chance to get plenty of practice before being put to the test on the timed runs.

This bobsleigh experience is the perfect gift for any extreme sports enthusiast who has a love for speed.

White Water Rafting for Two

Description

Thunderous noise, churning water and rapids all around you - some serious teamwork is required to get you through it all. This is the unbelievable thrill of white water rafting.

You can raft on man-made rapids, which are guaranteed to give you lots of white water excitement! Alternatively you can try natural white water rafting in the Scottish Highlands, where you will enjoy the excitement of this sport in beautiful unspoilt surroundings.

The session starts with a thorough safety briefing by a qualified instructor, followed by tuition where you'll learn to perfect your paddling technique. Then it’s time to take to the river on a raft.

For natural rapids, white water rafting is dependent on water levels and therefore can only run if the water is high enough. We ensure that you have a thorough safety briefing and that you are professionally looked after by a qualified instructor. Then you enjoy travelling down river on the raft.

For man made rapids, pumps control the discharge of the water down the 300 metre white water course allowing the centre to control the flow rates, therefore altering the course's difficulty and the skill levels required to paddle it. After a dry land briefing session and issue of equipment you will spend 1 1/2 hours white water rafting.

You may be required to help carry the raft and equipment during your experience. Several stretches of river are used, some are a 45-minute bus ride from the meeting point (transportation is included). The rafting is dependent on water levels and therefore can only run if the water is high enough.

On this trip you'll travel through the city past famous landmarks including Christchurch College and Meadows, the University boathouses and regatta course, the Head of the River and Folly Bridge.

From the river you'll take in a side of Oxford's heritage rarely seen by visitors to the city. See well-loved allotments, gardens and majestic and ancient Port Meadow, some of Oxford's most beautiful and intriguing scenery. Port Meadow, a vast area of common land, has remained little changed since prehistoric times and supports plants and bird-life in abundance.

At the top of Port Meadow is Godstow. Godstow was the ultimate destination of Alice Liddell and Lewis Carroll when they followed an identical route to this trip while composing 'Alice's Adventures in Wonderland'. It is also the site of Trout Island, an inspiration for another of Oxfords literary icons, C S Lewis, and his stories of the land of Narnia. Description

Escape the stresses of modern day living and get closer to nature with this fantastic Two Night Camping Experience.

Camping can be great fun and this experience allows you to enjoy all the joys of camping without having to rough it.

If you're not aspiring to be Bear Grylls then this experience is a great alternative and could be seen more as glamping than clamping with its comfortable and inviting camping pods. For a start, they are guaranteed to stay dry inside, which is particularly handy when you can’t rely on the great British weather. If you're looking for a short break away to escape somewhere different and quirky with your partner, camping pods are the perfect getaway.

This voucher entitles two adults to a two night's stay in a camping pod. You can book additional nights at an extra fee at time of booking. Dale Farm House, New Forest, Dibden

Ria from Supplier Team, July 2019

The perfect night away!

For our break we stayed at Dale Farm House, a lovely, quaint B&B situated in the picturesque New Forest. From the moment we arrived until the moment we left we were treated like someone special, the owners Chris and Peter were so friendly and helpful, they really couldn’t do enough for us!

The B&B was beautiful and set in a very rural area, but was well sign posted and easy to find. On arrival, we were given a warm welcome by Chris who checked us in. She showed us around the B&B, the gardens and made sure we knew where everything was and what time breakfast would be served in the morning.

We were recommended an array of places to eat dinner nearby, as well as local takeaway restaurants if we preferred a night in with a glass of wine. The B&B had a beautiful garden area with plenty of places to sit and soak up the atmosphere and the bedroom we stayed in was cosy and comfortable. Our bedroom was on the ground floor and the front door was kept unlocked so we could go in and out as we pleased and the bed itself was really comfortable, so we both had a great night’s sleep!

Breakfast was served the following morning between 8am-9:30am and there was lots to choose from. We both went for the full English breakfast which was cooked fresh using produce sourced locally. The food was delicious and the portion was huge, the perfect way to start our day before exploring all the New Forest has to offer.

All in all we had a fantastic night away and couldn’t have asked for better accommodation or friendlier hosts. I would definitely recommend Dale Farm House and can’t wait for our next visit here.

Top Tip
Go for the full English breakfast, it was delicious!

The Hussar, Margate, Kent

Verity from National Accounts, July 2019

Arrived at the venue which was really easy to find, they had two big car parks which was free of charge to use. We entered the venue to be greeted by a friendly gentleman in their bar/restaurant, we handed our voucher in and was taken to our en-suite room. The room was really clean and tidy, it had a large bathroom and they had even shaped the towels on the bed into elephants which I thought was a lovely touch. We dropped our bags and went and explored the seaside town, got some delicious fish and chips and sat on the beach. The bed was extremely comfy, the room had tea and coffee making facilities, the hotel also has free Wi-Fi for guests to use. After a great night’s sleep we woke up early and went for breakfast, which was absolutely delicious, great quality food. We decided to stay in Margate for the day and enjoy more of the seaside. If your big kids like myself and my partner then go and enjoy Dreamland, Margate – lots of fun for both adults and children.

Top Tip
Make sure you go to the beach, its beautiful on a sunny day!

Park Lane Hotel, London

Holly from National Accounts, October 2018

The whole experience was so smooth and I received amazing customer service from start to finish! Upon booking with the hotel, the operator was very knowledgeable and polite and the voucher was easily accepted at short notice on a busy weekend. I even rang back to inform them of some dietary requirements that I initially forgot to mention and they were very happy to accommodate. Upon entering the Palm Court Restaurant, we were immediately in awe of the beautiful Art Deco features and the soothing sound of the harpist. A member of staff immediately greeted us, took our coats and gave us a choice of seats. We choose to sit facing the harpist, and the seats were very comfy – they even had pillows! We were given the menu and the waiter explained a brief history about the hotel whilst he poured our champagne. The tea arrived first and it was delicious! There was a choice of all different teas and we were allowed to keep trying different types. Then the food arrived. I can honestly say this was the best afternoon tea I’ve ever had! The sandwiches were so good we asked for another round (which was included in the voucher!!), the scones were dainty but perfect, and the sweets were incredible! Everything was so professional and the atmosphere was very relaxing. Although the waiter did say we could upgrade to bottomless sparking wine for an extra £15, we were not pushed to buy this and there was no other pressure to purchase anything extra. Unfortunately, we were both driving so could not upgrade but would have definitely done so if we could (although what was included in the voucher was enough by far!). Overall a beautiful experience and I would definitely visit again without a doubt!

Top Tip
Try as many different teas as you can! They are all so delicious and different.
