Description

Abseiling is one of the more traditional activities and still as much fun as ever. Dangling yourself over a 90 foot drop with nothing more than a bit of rope to hang onto is always guaranteed to get the blood pumping.

On the day you will have an experienced guide to take you abseiling, they cater for everyone from beginners to experienced rock climbers.

Family Aerial Adventure

Description

Rock UK is a nationwide organisation with 4 activity centres across the country and over 60,000 visitors every year. They give young people and those who are young at heart a chance to experience exhilarating adventure in a safe and affirming environment. Their aim is to help people push their boundaries, grow in confidence and discover capabilities they didn't know they had.

Experience fun suitable for all the family on a range of aerial obstacles, all 8.5 meters off the ground in the South Wales Valleys! Swing through burma bridges, climb across cargo nets and test your balance on the high wires. The obstacle course is renowned for its excitement and you get the opportunity to go round not once, but twice!

Upon arrival you will be provided with safety equipment and may want to watch others in action to feel the excitement. Once familiar with the course, you get 2 full circuits and plenty of time to hone your skills. Afterwards you can visit the café and purchase some hot and cold food and drinks.

Half Day Cliff Jumping

Description

Freespirits are one of the UK's leading and premier activity providers, specialising in white water rafting and a variety of other outdoor activities. Freespirits gives you the chance to be a free spirit, get the adrenaline pumping or try a brand-new activity that you have always wanted to experience.

Upon arrival you'll be welcomed by one of the friendly members of staff who will provide you with a safety briefing and an introduction to the experience you'll be taking part in.

The clue is in the name. You will be jumping from a cliff into a river, starting at 15ft and working your way up. When taken to your first launch site you will be taught the correct techniques for jumping and entering the water. The instructors will watch how you jump and as soon as your technique is good enough, they will take you to the next level of jumping.

There are a few different cliff jumping sites you can go to, the site you visit on the day will depend on the water levels and the group. The height of the jumps vary depending on the site and go up to just under 40ft. You will have an experienced guide to take you cliff jumping, the only thing you need to be able to do is swim.

Indoor Rock Climbing for Two

Description

Rock climbing is perfect for those who enjoy a challenge and get a buzz from tackling heights. It will test your fitness as well as your ability to work as a team. This introductory session will teach you the basics and leave you with an appetite to perhaps take this up as a new hobby.

You will be in the safe hands of a professional rock climbing instructor who will teach you how to put on the safety harness, tie a knot and how to belay. The instructor will also give you advice on your technique as well as the best tips to improve. There are different levels of difficulty for all ages and fitness.

Once you arrive you will both be fitted with a helmet and given a safety briefing. With your instructor you will then learn all the basics of how to rock climb on the various walls on offer at the venue. Depending on your competence during the session, you may then have the opportunity to continue rock climbing unsupervised for the rest of your experience This decision is made at the end of the session and is at the discretion of your instructor.

The locations available are all specialist indoor centres.

Rockreef Adrenaline Experience

Description

Located at the very end of the Bournemouth Pier and the first of its kind in the world, the PierZip is an experience not to be missed! Are you a thrill-seeker? Do you enjoy an adrenaline-charged thrill-ride experience? If the answer is yes, then the PierZip is for you! Climb the Zip tower above the sea and zip-surf over the waves to the shore.

Take on the awesome indoor vertical slide and leap of faith. How high will you go before you are brave enough to let go and experience the adrenaline rush of a vertical drop! Follow this with the ultimate challenge and climb a 20ft pole, walk the plank and take the leap of faith grabbing the bag suspended in mid-air.

You will be required to sign a waiver form upon arrival. Your instructor will then begin with a comprehensive safety briefing. Once kitted out with all the safety gear, it will be time to begin! You will take on the Leap of Faith, Vertical Slide and two rides on the PierZip. Instructors will be on hand throughout ensuring you are safe and offering guidance.
