This is a fantastic chance for you and your guest to enjoy a relaxed, unhurried and civilised journey on a steam train. The steam train has been around for over 200 years moving passengers from place to place. Seeing the trains in all their glory brings a real sense of history to your day and there is always plenty to see, making this a great day out.
Once you arrive at the venue you will need to exchange your voucher at the ticket office for your steam train tickets. The experience varies depending on the location you choose. Some journeys are return trips whilst others are all day rover tickets and you may be able to stop off en route to explore the local area on foot. Please check exact details upon booking. Depending on the location you may be able to visit other attractions at the venue such as a steam train museum. Please note that the Cumbria location is a narrow gauge railway.

We really enjoyed this experience, however it is advisable to catch the early 9.00am train there as it gets very busy. We opted to pay the extra and travel all the way to Whitby and back, we are glad that we did. Some of the trains are diesel pulled so check the timetable. We are looking forward to trying out another Steam Train Experience, but after the long school summer holidays.

This experience is great for people who like a bit of nostalgia! It was nice arriving at the venue and seeing the old station in it's full glory complete with old posters, old suitcases etc. We also went on a Victorian Era day so all the staff were dressed up in Victorian clothes which really added to the day. The train was in beautiful condition and there's nothing like the sound of a steam train as it approaches the station. My favourite bit was at the end when the driver allowed me to look around the engine of the train! The whole experience was very enjoyable!
