South London Botanical Institute Entrance with a Botanical Cream Tea for 2
In a nutshell
- Explore the world of plants
- Enjoy delicious scones and unlimited tea/coffee
- Available Thurs-Sun from April to June
The South London Botanical Institute is like nowhere else, hidden away in Tulse Hill in South East London. The SLBI was established in 1910 to introduce the people of south London to the science, pleasure and importance of plants. Still based in the original Victorian building in Tulse Hill, this historic aim continues today, but with a wider remit than just south London and with plant education for all ages at the heart of its vision: ‘Discovering plants, enriching lives, sustaining the future.’
The SLBI provides a unique environment to help people explore the world of plants and to access green space in an inner-city area. People of all ages and backgrounds attend a wide range of events (including school visits, school holiday activities, talks, walks and workshops) and use their small botanic garden, library, herbarium (dried plant collection) and education facilities. There is no café normally at SLBI, so your cream tea will be a rare experience.
Enjoy a cream tea (2 scones & unlimited fresh tea/coffee) in the tranquillity of the SLBI botanic garden, a ‘hidden little gem’ in South London. Scones will be botanically flavoured, using seasonal plants & herbs, and served in the garden (under cover, if bad weather). You will be welcome to look around the garden at your leisure, enjoying the beautiful, unusual plants, the little greenhouse full of carnivorous plants and the restful pond with its wildlife.
This experience is available on Thursdays and Sundays, from April to June.
You can enjoy the experience for up to 3 hours.
This experience is for two people, there will be other people there on the day.
The minimum age is 7 years old. Children need to be accompanied by an adult.
This is for a voucher entitling the holder to any of the activities supplied by Activity Superstore up to the value stated.
