Clarion Collection Hotel, St Albans, Hertfordshire
Ria from Supplier Team, August 2019
Located in the heart of the historic town of St Albans, the Clarion Collection Hotel is an ideal spot for those looking to explore the town and have a fantastic two night break! The hotel is a grade II listed building with a traditional feel to it from the outside, yet the inside boasted a modern and contemporary twist.
We checked in and were given a permit so we could park the car in a secure, nearby car park. We were then shown to our bedroom which was a great size, had fully functioning air conditioning and a very comfortable bed – everything we needed for a peaceful night’s sleep.
The hotel is situated right in the centre of the town, so there were plenty of shops, restaurants, bars and a market right on the door step. We spent our 2 night break exploring St Albans and enjoyed the wonderful restaurants, quirky bars and the old fashioned cinema. For those who would prefer to stay at the hotel, they have a bar which is open 24 hours and work with Café Rouge next door so you can order dinner from there using room service!
The breakfast was served each morning between 8:30am-10:30am, which meant we could have a nice lie in before starting the day with a hearty meal. The breakfast was buffet style with a range of things to choose from, so you could help yourself to a full English, a selection of cereals, fruits, pastries, juices, teas and coffee. For those who have a sweet tooth, there was even a waffle maker with all sorts of delicious toppings you could cover your waffles in!
Overall, we had a wonderful 2 night break at a lovely hotel, in a fantastic location – we will definitely be returning and are looking forward to our next visit!
Be sure to save some room after your breakfast for waffles! They have a waffle making machine where you can help yourself and cover these in chocolate sauce, marshmallows, chocolate balls and smarties if you have a sweet tooth!
