Queens Gallery and Sparkling Afternoon Tea for Two
Enjoy a truly royal day out with a visit to the Queens Gallery followed by a delicious afternoon tea at St. James’ Hotel Mayfair. Between November 2019 and May 2020 explore the special exhibition: George IV: Art & Spectacle which present’s Georges’ life through the art that enriched his world and from June 2020 enjoy the special exhibition: Japan: Courts and Culture which showcases the most significant examples of Japanese art and design from around the world.
St. James’s Hotel & Club offers a historical Afternoon Tea, designed by Executive Chef William Drabble of in-house Michelin Star Restaurant Seven Park Place. Guests will be transported to Victorian times and taste classic cakes of that period, keeping its originality but with slight modern-day twist.
The tea features highlights from Victorian times including custard tart and a classic Victoria Sponge Cake, whilst other dishes include Cheshire cheese scones, made with the oldest recorded British cheese, plain scones with jam and clotted cream as well as an array of traditional savoury sandwiches, washed down with a cup of an exclusive fine loose tea blend from The East India Company - created especially for the hotel – or for those in the mood for something fizzy, St. James’s Hotel and Club’s finest Champagne.
This experience is available Monday to Sunday, tea can be booked from 3pm until 5:30pm. The Queens Gallery is closed from 4th May until 12th June.
This experience will last approximately 2-4 hours.
This experience is for two people, there will be other people there on the day.
The minimum age is 18 years old.
