What did you get up to?
Upon arriving at Birmingham Wheels Raceway, I was greeted by an instructor who gave me a booklet with my name printed in it along with the other participants. I then changed into my racing gear and was called in to be briefed. After the safety briefing and being shown how to ‘buckle up’ we were put into groups and called over to get our helmets and get into the cars accordingly. We then walked over to the cars and were shown how to enter and exit the cars safely. Following this, we were told to start our engines and follow the pace car. Once the pace car had set off we could start to battle it out. The race itself was brilliant, it kept me on edge the whole time and time flew past. After the racing, we were debriefed and given certificates and the winners received a trophy. I really enjoyed my time and they couldn’t have done anything better! The experience was highly authentic and I will be doing this again.
What did you enjoy the most?
Something which added to the excitement is watching your competitors spin out and the commentator announcing how well you are doing or that someone is coming up behind you. This got the adrenaline pumping!
Make sure you are fastened in tight!
