Entrance to Windsor Castle & Mini Chocolatier Workshop
The oldest and largest inhabited castle in the world, there’s every chance for eagled eyed visitors to catch a glimpse of the Queen. Windsor Castle has built up a huge collection of exhibits over the years, which are proudly displayed in extravagant rooms and special exhibitions.
There’s a wealth of stunning displays to explore in the State Apartments, decorated by the very best designers to the tastes of thirty-nine different monarchs. These rooms are still in use to this day, providing an amazing insight into the inner-workings of the Royal Family.
A favourite among visitors is Queen Mary’s Doll House. This stunning replica of an aristocrat’s home is almost as impressive as the castle itself!
After you visit to the Castle wander over to Dr Choc’s to enjoy making chocolate in the heart of Royal Windsor and discover why chocolate is the best medicine. Visit Dr Choc’s Factory to participate in a chocolate-making workshop. With this hands-on experience, you will become a chocolatier by learning new chocolate making-skills which will lead you to making your very own chocolate bar! Then relax with a hot chocolate made with REAL Chocolate whilst you wait for your chocolate to set.
During the workshop you will make and take home:
3 bars, decorated with toppings & try out marbling.
Dipped caramelized fruit in chocolate of your choice.
Dipped chocolate truffles.
Hot chocolate on a stick.
Your chocolate will take around 25/30 minutes to set and package. So while you wait you can enjoy a yummy drink in the café upstairs, explore the chocolate shop or head into Royal Windsor and pick your chocolates up later that day.
There is a special display running from the 7th July – 26th September to mark Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee, the Coronation Dress and Robe of Estate worn by The Queen for her Coronation on 2 June 1953 will be on display. The gown was created in the finest white duchesse satin, richly embroidered with national and Commonwealth floral emblems. Her Majesty’s Robe of Estate was made of purple silk velvet woven and embroidered with a design symbolising prosperity and peace, surrounding the crowned intertwined EIIR cipher.
This experience runs on selected dates, throughout the year.
The tour will last approximately 1 ½ -2 hours. The workshop will last 30 minutes.
This experience is for two people, there will be others there on the day.
