Single Seater Racing Car Driving

Description

Single seaters are the closest you will ever get to driving a genuine F1 car. As you sit in the small cockpit you look out towards the start line, you start to build the revs, and when the flag is dropped you drop the clutch and launch down the straight. In a matter of seconds you're taking the corners and barrelling along!

The programme typically involves a welcome on arrival, followed by a briefing. Then it’s time to take to the wheel for laps in a performance saloon, where your instructor will demonstrate circuit driving techniques such as taking the correct line on a corner. Next you take the wheel yourself to practice what you have been taught. Then the real action begins: you take a single seater racing car such as a Formula First, Formula Renault or Formula Ford around the racing circuit. With potential acceleration of 0-60 in less than 6 seconds, these cars are perfectly placed to introduce you to the exhilaration and excitement of racing.

The person driving the car will be required to sign a disclaimer accepting liability in the event of damage to the vehicle. The driver will be given an option to purchase damage waiver cover when booking to minimise their financial exposure should there be an accident. Drivers are under no obligation to purchase this optional waiver. Full details are available at the time of booking.

Half Day Rally

Description

You're barrelling along a track. "Medium left!" yells your instructor. You turn the wheel, heave the handbrake and in an instant you're powersliding, cornering faster than you've ever done before. Rally driving is completely different from any other form of driving, and this rallying gift experience is the perfect way to find out just how different. Imagine a sport where you are almost permanently skidding and turning at least 50 yards before each corner. There's no doubt that a rally driving activity means fast and furious excitement and rallying is the perfect gift for anyone with a need for speed.

You'll start your day with an introductory briefing from your rallying instructor and then it's time to get behind the wheel for some practice sessions. You'll learn classic rallying techniques such as hand brake turns and controlled opposite lock slides. Many of the courses have loose surface rally stages - which means much more sliding, and much more fun!

What's more, we use a wide selection of rally schools with the latest equipment (such as headphones in your helmet, so you can clearly hear what's going on).

65 Minute Gyrocopter Flying Lesson

Description

A gyrocopter, also known as a gyroplane or autogyro, is a helicopter-airplane hybrid, offering many of the benefits of both and several of its own. It's rotor is driven by aerodynamic forces rather than an engine powered propeller and many consider it among the safest aircraft you can fly.

Despite sharing the same basic controls as a fixed wing aeroplane - stick, throttle, and rudder pedals, gyrocopters are incredibly nimble and there's manoeuvres a gyrocopter can make that other aircraft must not try. Unlike most other forms of flight a gyrocopter provides unrestricted views and flies slow enough and low enough to allow you to see what is happening on the ground below.

There is nothing quite like the wind in your face as you fly at one with the world. This is a thrilling and unique experience perfect for any adrenaline junkie and we defy you not to have the 'gyrocopter grin' plastered on your face.

After a short introduction and familiarisation with the aircraft, you will be fitted with flying suits, crash helmets and head sets. Next, its time to take to the skies. You will fly at around 800ft in the gyrocopter which will last for approximately 65 minutes. If you wish you will have the opportunity to take the controls and fly the gyrocopter for yourself. Otherwise you can sit back and enjoy the spectacular view.

Nissan GTR & Audi R8

Description

These are two of the latest cars to appear on the supercar scene. The Audi R8 is the new everyday supercar which Clarkson describes as one of the truly great cars and the only hesitation he has in awarding a coveted five stars is that, ideally, he would like to give it six.
