The ArcelorMittal Orbit is Britain’s largest sculpture and is a prominent feature of the East London skyline. Created by Anish Kapoor and Cecil Balmond, the sculpture was originally part of the Olympic legacy which transformed East London alongside the Olympic games in 2012. The obscure sculpture has become a landmark in its own right, attracting and delighting visitors in droves with its unique panoramic views over the city of London.
Made up with 35,000 bolts and enough steel to build 265 double-decker buses, this looping structure offers extraordinary 20-mile views over the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and East London.
You will climb the 455 stairs to the summit of the structure, where you’ll be greeted by a platform of concave mirrors and innovative touchscreens in addition to the breathtaking views spread around you.
Also included in this incredible experience is afternoon tea for two at the Holiday Inn, Stratford. You can enjoy a fine selection of fresh finger sandwiches, warm scones served with strawberry jam and classic Cornish cream, as well as an assortment of delicious mini-cakes and washed down with a choice of refreshing speciality teas and coffees.
