Take a journey back in time and enjoy a fun-filled, nostalgic day out with this Steam Train Ride with Cream Tea for Two experience.

This majestic mode of transport has been around for over 200 years and was a key part in the growth of the Industrial Revolution. Seeing these trains up close and in all their glory brings a real sense of history to your day.

You will have a choice of two different railway locations to choose from.

Nene Valley Railway

Most passengers usually join at Wansford Station, heading west and passing through the Wansford Tunnel towards the end of the line at Yarwood Junction. From here the train travels back East over the River Nene on a girder bridge.

You’ll pass through Ferry Meadows and alongside Overton Lake. Passengers may break their journey up and visit Peterborough and take in the nearby Railworld or perhaps wander around the city, which is only a short walk away from the station.

Your cream tea will be served in the train’s carriage and will consist of a scrumptious scone with cream and jam and accompanied with a refreshing pot of tea or coffee.

Llanberis Lake Railway

The little steam engines take you on a five-mile return journey alongside Lake Padarn, right in the heart of Snowdonia.

The journey takes you past the 13th century Dolbadarn Castle, across possibly Britain's shortest river and past Llanberis' twin lakes. From Llanberis the train runs non-stop through the Padarn Country Park, joining the 1845 slate railway route to run along the shores of Lake Padarn to Penllyn, and giving stunning views of Snowdon, the highest peak in England and Wales. There's a short stop at Cei Llydan, a beautifully tranquil place which is ideal for a lakeside picnic. At Gilfach Ddu you can visit the National Slate Museum, watch the driver stoking the fire, the engine taking on water or spend some time in the gift shop and cafe.

After your Steam Train ride, you will indulge in a cream tea inside the cafe situated at the back of the Station at Gilfach Ddu.

*If the Steam train is unavailable for reasons beyond the control of the venue it will be replaced by a Diesel train.
