Description

Enjoy ground-shaking and breathtaking pyrotechnics and displays, and be treated to a superb array of classical music guaranteed to make you wave your flags, sing out loud and even waltz under the stars!

JSL Productions delivers the ultimate summer event, with something for everyone: a stunning setting, rousing classical favourites, breathtaking Spitfire fly over, bold cavalry and infantrymen, and of course the thunderous cannons and fireworks!

This truly is a special occasion in the summer calendar, with a packed programme:

Before the concert you will be entertained by a lively warm-up act and sensational skill-at-arms displays on horseback and on foot.

As the programme opens, the historic rumble of the Spitfire engine will soar overhead in a tear-jerking display, then the 52 piece orchestra perform a soul-stirring programme including performances by talented young instrumental soloists and uplifting arias, songs and duets from a fabulous soprano.

The programme would not be complete without Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture with live cannons, and the unforgettable performance of Beethoven's Battle Symphony, the centrepiece work that gives this special event its name. With 193 live cannons, each fired electronically to the original score by the orchestra’s percussionist, it’s the ultimate percussion section! This is the only concert in the world to stage this incredible piece as it was originally written; it really is a spectacle which has to be seen (and heard) to be believed.

And to round off a perfect evening’s entertainment, the soprano takes to the stage to bring the crowd to their feet with all of the 'last night of the proms' favourites: Jerusalem, Land of Hope and Glory, Rule Britannia and more. Sing along with the thousands of other promenaders and wave your flag to the spectacular firework finale lighting up the sky; this is a night you will never forget!

For safety reasons please note barbecues, garden flares and pets are not permitted. There is no seating at these concerts so please bring along rugs or garden chairs. The use of recording equipment is prohibited. Please allow sufficient time to park your car as no vehicles are allowed on the concert area. The car park opens at 2:30pm.

In certain weather conditions, the Spitfire air display will unfortunately not be possible due to safety reasons.
