The sheepdog is an intelligent thinking animal. Their ability to be trained to act on the sound of a whistle or word of command is renowned throughout the world and this experience will give you a knowledgeable insight. You will be given an introduction to the long and patient process of training border collies, their mind and basic instincts, the history of sheepdogs and how the relationship between shepherd and dog became what it is today. You will also get to meet the dogs up close so you can see how loveable they really are and try your hand at working them in the ring with the sheep. This is a great experience for any dog lover.

You will begin by meeting with your teacher and expert sheepdog trainer. The experience will commence with learning about the history of border collies and how they are trained. Your teacher will demonstrate how to work a dog and then you will have the opportunity to try your hand at this under their supervision, to put your new found knowledge to the test. You will be encouraged to ask any questions you may have throughout the experience.
