There is so much to see and do at Blenheim Palace that it is very easy to spend the full day there.
When entering the palace, you can pick-up your free audio guide which is very informative, there are also members staff in each room who are more than happy to answer any questions you have.
During our visit there was a 1920s exhibition with actors in full costume throughout the palace. The actors were in character and interacted with visitors.
After walking around the palace and grounds we worked up a bit of an appetite, so we made our way to the Macdonald Bear hotel which is located a short drive from the palace. There was ample parking and we managed to find a spot right outside the hotel.
A member of staff greeted us at reception and seated us straight away. We were asked which tea we would like, and they also confirmed our dietary requirements.
Only a short wait later and we were brought out our afternoon tea on a tiered stand with freshly baked warm scones.
The staff checked on us throughout, asking if we needed anything and to top up our pot of tea.
We had a great visit to Blenheim Palace and afternoon tea at the Macdonald Bear hotel. I would highly recommend it.
Top Tip
Don’t eat before the experience and leave room for the afternoon tea. There was a surprising amount of food which was too delicious to leave.
