Indonesian Animal Experience for Two at Hoo Farm

Description

Nestled away in 32 acres of woodland and paddocks in the heart of rural Shropshire, Hoo Farm Animal Kingdom is a small family run zoo located on the outskirts of Telford. With animals such as meerkats, lemurs, snakes and owls and even African wildcats, the zoo is a fantastic day out for people of all ages.

Upon arrival you will be greeted by a friendly member of the Hoo Farm team, who will introduce you to a trio of critically endangered species from Indonesia. This hour long experience begins with a close up meeting with a friendly raccoon or raccoon dog.
Next, you’ll move on to the bush-tailed possum, who is always happy for a cuddle and some affection.
This incredible experience ends when you meet Rae, who is a titular binturong, a bushy-tailed creature who originates from South East Asia.

All participants must be able bodied and 10 years or older.

Meet the African Big Cats for Two

Description

Seize the opportunity to get up close and personal with one of Africa’s big cats. This unforgettable 20 minute experience gives you the opportunity to meet two servals, Zeus and Duma. Recognised by their bold spotted black on tawny fur, servals are the second fastest cat reaching speeds of up to 50mph, as well as being able to jump 9 feet high. However, there’s no need to be scared as they love human attention and will happily nuzzle up to you.

After you have met the servals you will then meet a family of meerkats, letting them climb and play all over you and you will also meet two Black and White ruffed lemurs.

Your experienced keeper will ensure your safety with the animals at all times and help you gain the most out of your experience. Don't forget your camera to capture this exotic experience!

A Reptile Encounter for Two at Riverside Falconry

Description

This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to meet lots of reptiles. You will get up close and personal with these fascinating creatures.

Although they may not be considered the most cuddly or warm characters of the Animal Kingdom, reptiles are among the most remarkable creatures to walk our planet. In the words of Sir David Attenborough, "reptiles can be lethally fast, spectacularly beautiful, surprisingly affectionate and very sophisticated". Come and appreciate the reptile family in all their glory at Riverside Falconry, based in the beautiful Tyne valley, Newburn, Newcastle upon Tyne. With miles of open countryside and ancient woodlands, The Riverside Falconry's aim is to allow everyone the chance to witness the beauty of reptiles.

Upon arrival, you will be welcomed by a friendly reptile handler, who will give you a brief health and safety overview and recommend some of the do's and don’ts whilst handling the creatures. Your session will start off with meeting some of the smaller snakes such as the Corn Snake, which in the past could be found commonly in grass fields but is now classed as an endangered species. From there, you will be introduced to some of the larger of the snakes on the premises, including a deadly Python and regal Boa Constrictor.

In addition you will get to see the iconic venomous Cobra, however as he has a tendency to be a bit over friendly, this will be from a distance. Your snake encounter will conclude by meeting the centres largest snake, which is an enormous seven foot long. Next, you will get to meet and hold some of the friendly reptiles, such as The Gecko, Water Dragon, Bearded Dragon and a colour changing Chameleon. Last of all, you have the chance to meet and hold one of the eight legged residents, the hairy Tarantula.

Llama Experience with Cream Tea for Two

Description

On this unique experience, you will get up close and personal with llamas and enjoy a Devonshire cream tea on the Jurassic Coast.

Llamas are unique animals, they're easy to train, they can be very sociable and protective of their herd. You will get to learn their fascinating history, how to handle them and understand their behaviour towards humans and other llamas. Llamas are friendly, gentle and intelligent animals and make ideal walking companions. If you love animals, the llama is definitely one you should meet.

Based on East Devon’s spectacular Jurassic Coast, just outside the Regency seaside town of Sidmouth, the venue is ideally situated to take full advantage of the stunning scenery on this beautiful stretch of coastline.

Your experience will start with a meet and greet with the llamas. You will receive a demonstration about llamas, their characteristics as well as handling and grooming techniques. Next you will groom the llamas with brushes, if the weather is nice you can then have some time in the paddock with the llamas. If the weather is not in favour you can do some indoor clicker training with the llamas. Upon finishing this it is then time to help feed the llamas.

You will then receive your Devonshire cream tea at the Llama Lookout Gazebo, with a delicious scone each from the local bakery, jam and Devon clotted cream. You can choose from a hot or cold beverage.

In the winter, you will have the tea in the hay barn next to the indoor llama area.

Meet the Lemurs for Two

Description

Come and meet a playful troop of lemurs, with bright orange eyes and a long tail you'll have a job to miss these exceptional creatures. You’ll be able to enter the enclosure and give them their feed whilst learning about their unique characters from the specialist keeper.

Depending on your chosen location you will meet either ring-tailed, red ruffed or black and white ruffed lemurs.

Bring your camera, this is a fantastic chance to get a great snap of these amazing creatures who are always willing to strike a pose!

Once you arrive you will head straight for the lemur enclosure. After a health and safety briefing, you will need to wash your hands before entering the enclosure. The lemur specialist will be on hand to give you insightful information and oversee you as you interact with the animals. You will be given a small tub of insects, eggs, fruit, veg or cat biscuits to feed the lemurs with.

You may also receive an adoption pack for one or for two, depending on location.

Description

Llamas are unique animals, they're easy to train, they can be very sociable and they are protective of themselves and their herd. This experience is based on East Devon’s spectacular Jurassic Coast, England’s first natural world heritage site and an area of outstanding natural beauty. Meet the Meerkats for Two

Description

This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to meet a real group of meerkats. You will get up close and personal with these fascinating creatures and spend quality time really getting to know the animals as they climb all over you and feed from your hands! Each meerkat has its own individual character that is a joy to discover.

At some locations you will also have the opportunity to explore the rest of the zoo/park at your own leisure.

Once you arrive you will head straight for the meerkat enclosure. After a health and safety briefing, you will need to wash your hands before entering the enclosure. The meerkat specialist will be on hand to give you insightful information and oversee you as you interact with the animals. You will be presented with a small tub of meal worms or fruit to feed the meerkats with.

There will be plenty of opportunities to take photos and videos of this unforgettable experience.

Please note: Unfortunately you are unable to feed the meerkats at the Halisham location.

Please note: At the Knockholt, Kent venue you do not physically touch the meerkats.

Swimming with the Crocodiles for Two

Description

This is your chance to experience an amazing hour where you will get to swim with pre historic creatures.

Upon arrival you will have a meet and greet with the reptile handlers and be given a brief over view of what to expect in the experience. You'll then get changed and be introduced to the croc's where you will swim amongst them for 30 minutes. There will be plenty of photo opportunities and you’ll receive a souvenir photograph of you and the croc to take home as a keepsake.

After your experience, you’ll have the chance to look at some of the other reptile enclosures including some of their deadly venomous snakes.

Hike with a Husky

Description

Does a day in the great outdoors alongside man’s best friend sound like your idea of heaven? Maybe you know a canine lover who would jump at the chance to hike beside the pack and explore the glorious Lake District. Working specifically with huskies in a glorious landscape, this experience is sure to be an unforgettable one.

The day will allow you to learn more about one of the globe’s most celebrated breed and adopt a Husky to keep in contact with following your day. You will be able to meet, befriend and play with your chosen husky before hiking alongside the rest of pack for two hours amidst the stunning Lake District scenery.
