Enjoy the thrilling sensation of hovering above the ground and viewing the landscape from a 360 degree perspective during this thrilling Helicopter Flying Lesson.

Your helicopter lesson will begin with a 30 minute technical briefing from an expert flying instructor, who will explain all the on-board technology and controls in the cockpit. After take-off and while maintaining a steady altitude, you’ll have the opportunity to take over the controls for up to 15 minutes.

Once landed, you will be accompanied back to the Flying School, where you will receive your certificate of achievement and purchase inflight video and photos of your lesson.

What did you receive?
A helicopter flight, with taking the controls during the flight. Because of fog that morning all flights were running late, so my flight was delayed. Flying is weather dependent! During the waiting time we got to ask questions about the company, our lesson and were shown around a hanger where a variety of aircraft are stored.
After take-off, via headphones, the pilot talks through the principles of controlling the helicopter, explaining altitude, airspeed, pitch and roll, referencing the cockpit dials where necessary, while I had a loose grip on the flight stick. I then under dual control and guidance take control myself, correcting any deviations from our explained flight path.
The return leg of the flight you get guidance and control the helicopter decent via positioning the collective lever (what looks like a handbrake) at your side.
Completing a triangle flight path and on returning back to the airfield, there is some practice of making the helicopter hover near the ground before landing.

What did you enjoy the most?
It has to be taking control of the helicopter; I’d do it again…and hopefully improve.

Top Tip
Experiencing the view below and turbulence (it rained slightly), try and keep yourself relaxed while controlling the helicopter. Even tell yourself out loud to take a deep breath and relax if helps.
