Home20 Minute Microlight Flight
20 Minute Microlight Flight
Microlighting perfectly captures the spirit of early aviation; pioneering, thrilling and a touch eccentric. These quirky little aircrafts, with their panoramic views from the cockpit, are ideal for short trips over the countryside. Flying a microlight is the perfect treat on a fine summer's day! The instructors will give you a thorough briefing and then take you on a trial microlight flying lesson. We are sure you will end up as enthusiastic as they are!
You will be given a detailed briefing from your instructor, which includes how to use the microlight's dual controls, how to enter the microlight safely and pre-take off checks. You then take to the sky, climbing up to 1500 feet above ground level in a flex-wing (open cockpit) or fixed wing (closed cockpit - similar to a mini plane) aircraft (please state preference at time of booking). The instructor will demonstrate the controls and then, if the instructor is happy, control of the microlight will be passed to you. Happy flying!

Microlight Flight
.
I never knew microlighting could be so much fun. It is just you and the instrutor in an opened flex wing, (you can choice fixed wing if you prefer) the view is amazing and my instructor gave me a great talk and pointed out some of the surrounding counties. I even got to drive the microlight myself although I was happy for him to do it so I could enjoy the view!

.
I’ve always liked flying and as a boy in the Air Training Cadets went up in gliders and small aircraft, but I had never been up in a Microlight so here was my chance! It was also really good value and quite local to where I live – in St.Albans
I loved the mixture of excitement and uncertainty as we sat on the airfield waiting for the engine to reach the right temperature before taking off. I guess the adrenaline flows faster when there is something of the fear-of-the-unknown right in front of your face. Actually taking control of the microlight in the air was also a thrill and being able to move the tiny aircraft around the sky was an eye-opener. And finally landing on the airstrip and stopping so quickly that you feel that you could have landed it in your back-garden was something else! Even though the day was drizzly and cold, the clothing provided ensured that once in the air I felt perfectly warm. I would recommend this to anyone who likes flying and gets a buzz from doing something new.
