What starts out as an addictive hobby quickly becomes a competitive sport. It's not surprising that clay pigeon shooting is one of the country's fastest growing sports. All locations used have natural surroundings, making your experience a great time out in the country.
You will receive friendly and professional instruction starting with a safety briefing and explanation of how the guns work, followed by the techniques of the art of shotgun shooting. You will then be divided into groups of up to 7 (each group will be accompanied by a professional instructor) and shoot a practice round over various types of sporting targets from different positions. You will get 30 shots each. Extra clays may be purchased on the day.

When can you go?
Selected Monday to Saturday dates depending on the shooting ground, all year.
How long does this activity last?
Your clay shooting tuition will last for about 1 hour. Please allow 1-2 hours at the venue.
You need to know
To participate in this activity you must be at least 14 years old.
You will need to have general level fitness in order to participate in this activity.
You don't need any qualifications to take part in this activity.

Clay Shooting

This was brilliant fun - our instructor, John, was such a nice man and he really knew what he was talking about, which was good as I hadn't shot anything since I was a kid and my fiancée had never even held a gun before. John showed us how to hold the gun, how to aim it (and avoid too much recoil) and prepared us on exactly what to look for when taking our shot. Amazingly, we both hit our first clays which gave us plenty of confidence. We used different traps so we had a chance to try different shots which made it all the more exciting and I managed to hit two clays with one shot towards the end which was very satisfying! A really interesting day and great fun - I would urge anyone who has never shot before to give it a try.
