Junior Drifting Thrill

This experience is brilliant for those adrenaline hungry teens who are eager to get behind the wheel but are not old enough to drive. But what is drifting? Drifting refers to a driving technique and to a motor sport where the driver intentionally oversteers, causing loss of traction in the rear wheels through turns, while preserving vehicle control and a high exit speed. In other words the car will be sliding around corners sideways!

You will be driving a Ford Rally Sport Trainer, specifically designed so beginners can experience the sheer exhilaration and gain satisfaction of being able to drift a car in a spectacular rally style. You'll soon become experts at powerslides and the 'Scandinavian flick'. After all the excitement you'll be asking, 'Can I drive home?'

Your experience will start with a full safety briefing held by one of the instructors before you head out and get your hands on one of the academies training cars. With one-to-one tuition, you'll familiarise yourself with the car before learning the basic skills of drifting and spending time developing these to increase the precision and finesse that this unique sport requires. The instructor will mark your skills and provide some feedback to allow you to improve for the future. The activity will end with a debrief and presentation of your certificate to take home.

This experience is available on selected weekend dates, throughout the year.

How long does this activity last?

This experience will last approximately 4 hours.

You need to know

The minimum age for this experience is 10 years old and maximum is 17 years old.
The minimum height is 4ft 2 and the maximum height is 6ft 4. The maximum weight for all participants is 18 stone.
No previous driving experience is required. All drivers must be accompanied by an adult.

This is for a voucher entitling the holder to any of the activities supplied by Activity Superstore up to the value stated.

Family and friends

You're welcome to bring up to three spectators, one of whom must be over 18. Children must be accompanied at all times.
