Tank Driving Taster

Experience the thrill of driving a real 18-tonne army tank! Grouped with other recruits you will take turns in testing your tank driving and tank commanding skills in this dramatic and heavy-duty experience.

Using ex-military tanks which have seen active service - you will see the bullet holes for yourself! You will negotiate a tricky obstacle course and get to act as tank commander riding out of the hatch directly behind the driver.

To begin you will be kitted out in army gear and meet with your instructor who will talk you through a quick safety briefing. Then you and the rest of your team will travel in the tank's hull where there are seats but not much else! You will take it in turns to drive the tank, and when you're not driving you could be sitting where the tank's crew or commander would normally sit. After your experience you will be awarded a Tank Driving certificate which will look great on your wall at home.

This experience runs on selected dates, throughout the year.

How long does this activity last?

This experience will last approximately 1½ hours.

You need to know

The minimum age is 17 years.
There are no fitness requirements.
There are no qualifications required.

This is for a voucher entitling the holder to any of the activities supplied by Activity Superstore up to the value stated.

There will be up to eight people in your group.

Family and friends

You're welcome to bring spectators on the day.
